The driver's side door stop (the tension device that provides incremental "hold" spots for the door) has come loose, and makes a loud "bang" (or two) whenever I open or close this door. I think I've broken a weld and will need body shop repairs. Anyone else experience this? What's the fix?
I had the same thing happen on my '92 and '93 dodge shadows. Not a big deal, really. Have a good body shop remove the old one, grind and prep the area for welding. Clamp new tensioner in place, weld, prime, and paint. Voila', one new door thingy. On my Shadows, the door was removed to do this. Not a big deal for a good body shop. I spent ~buck fifty per car for both doors.
