The power seat controls on the driver's seat in my 760GLE (1987) almost all work, but one (the seat-back tilt) does not. I get only a loud, rapidly-repeating clunk/click sound when I move the switch.
This wouldn't be a problem if my seat-back were tilted comfortably, but it's shoved pretty far forward, and I really need it back several inches. Does anyone know -
1. What might be the problem if only one switch isn't working? It sounds like the faulty switch still has a power connection, but perhaps the motor in the seat-back is stuck, hence the thunking sound... Any ideas whether this could be fixed at home, or how much it'll cost if I have to have a dealer do it?
2. Is there a way to manually move the seat-back so that I can be comfortable, even if I don't want to fix the motor/whatever is broken?
TIA for any help!
