I am experiencing fuel delivery problems on an 86 740 GLE turbo Diesel. No fuel is reaching the engine.
The last guy working on the car took off the fuel lines at the injectors and found that no fuel was coming out.
What is more unusual is that this car ran perfectly eight years ago, then the owner died and it sat in a heated garage for 7 years. It was then moved and during the moving processes it was discovered that the car was having fuel delivery problems. The car has 80,000 miles and as far as anyone knows this car was maintained throughout its life until it was left to sit.
The biggest problem with fixing this has been the lack of diesel service manuals, but any input would be greatly appreciated.
