Volvo Cars of North America, LLC. (VCNA) reports sales of 10,903 cars in the United States and Canada for the month of July. Sales slipped from last years' record pace by 10.1 percent and 12.3 percent, respectively.
Looking ahead, this month's near wholesale sales record in North America is a strong indicator of dealer confidence as the company moves to sell down '02 models in preparation for new products, such as the XC90 -- Volvo's first SUV -- due out later this year. Meanwhile, the S60 and V70 XC remain Volvo sales leaders.
VCNA provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to Volvo automobile retailers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The 2002 Volvo automobile line includes the sporty S60, the flagship S80 luxury sedan, the versatile V70 wagon and rugged Cross Country, C70 Coupe and convertible, and the compact S40 and V40 models.
