I recently got an 87 760 with the v6, for a project. Car ran fine till about ~1-2 months ago, then it has sat until today. I tried to start it, it turned over but would not even catch. I didnt have my tools on me, so I couldnt check for spark or gas, but it did appear that all the important fuses were good. Where should I start? I'll check back as soon as i have a chance to check for fuel and spark.
well, i go back to it and it starts right up....go figure. I think it saw that I walking over with some tools, and got scared that I was going to attempt surgery
Uh oh!!! You have a Volvo seven-sickly-wh0re (764)??? RUN AWAY!!! RUN AWAY!!!!! It's a problematic Renault-designed (joint designed, that is) engine which has its share of problems. The most common problem (so I've read) is the camshaft lobes being prematurely worn down in 60,000 miles or less.

It's not a B27 or even a B28, so there's no need to bring up problems he'll never see. The B280 was a fine motor.
