Hello all,

Volvo just made the announcement about which dealers get to sell the Polestar cars. The dealership I work for is one of them. We are located in South Florida(Margate Volvo). So please let me know if I can assist anyone. There are a total of 52 authorized dealerships in the states who got the exclusivity, so please check with your local stores. There is a process to be followed and they have not announced the ETA for the cars yet.

They have not sent us the list of dealers... if there is such a list Grecian may have it...Here is how the orders will be handled:

All available vehicles will be listed on the Polestar Limited Edition Page on www.volvocars.us
· Web site will show the four Polestar Editions that are being produced - Black S60, Rebel Blue S60, Black V60 and Rebel Blue V60
· Customer clicks on "Reserve Now"
· For each variant all Polestar vehicle information including, model, color, vehicle number, approximate ETA, and if available or sold status will be listed
· Customer clicks on "Reserve Now" and data collection form will render including the three closest retailers once they enter their zip code, and they can select their chosen retailer.
· Upon submission of the form Customer will receive a Thank You email with selected retailer information, contact person at the dealership and their contact information; simultaneously retailer contact person receives email of Customer information and contact information
· Retailer will contact customer to schedule a test drive

Once appointment is scheduled (or in the case of a walk in customer please walk through online steps above first with the customer):
· Customer goes to the retailer to formally reserve the vehicle and go for a test drive
· Polestar Specialist along with Customer will call Volvo Customer Car Polestar Specialist at 1-800-433-XXXX to request desired vehicle and number; the call center will be open 8:30am to 5PM EST and voicemails will be returned in the order that they were received.
· Customer Care to certify vehicle availability or provide alternative number or model if necessary and confirm the vehicle is reserved, and give a firm ETA
· Retailer will accept deposit, obtain a signed buyers order and send signed order to volvocus@volvocars.com
· Customer care will provide vehicle information to Sales Planning to arrange for shipping and badging, and sent to VCNA to update the website will be update with the unit as sold
Once vehicle arrives at the dealership
· Retailer Polestar Specialist to contact customer and schedule delivery, delivery must be done within 10 days of arrival of the vehicle to the dealership, verification of delivery and customer information is subject to audit

Any idea when this will be enabled. The Polestar portion of the website only has a "Stay Informed" link at this point.

Yes, I'd be very curious about the list myself. I'd love to have a Polestar V60, I'd take a big hit on trading in a 1 year old Acura, meh, it's only money.

the sequence of events as serdarfl lays them out above seems a little silly. my dealer here in the north east explained them similarly, but he said he'd resent to his 'rep' the order i had made months ago. he also told me had been told my pre-order (with money down) would probably be accepted. also, he surmised there would only be a choice of getting or not getting a package like climate, since folks in florida might not want heated seats and steering wheel.
i gathered from my conversation with him yesterday full-on polestarization will spread to other models. he said he and people from the other 51 dealers are going off for training on what polestar is and will be some time in august. he wasn't told what the prices will be nor what to expect for delivery dates.
how are they going to work out the test drives? since there are 52 delivery centers and only 120 vehicles will there be only 68 vehicles for fresh, undriven deliveries? perhaps the plan is to drive a few 'testers' around the country, going from dealer to dealer?

Which dealers in NJ got certified?

#33 ·
Byers Volvo, in Columbus, is the only Ohio retailer that was certified. Bobby Rahal Volvo, outside of Pittsburgh, PA may be closer though.

I just heard a rumor that Prestige wants to charge $10-$15k more than sticker for the cars.

What a joke if they do. I'm sorry, but for that money I could buy a much better car.

GV,

Might be easier to copy/paste a list into one post?

Any dealers in CT?
Yes, any CT dealers (in southern CT) or Tri-State Area dealers (NY/NJ/CT)?

Also, how come the US is only getting Blue and Black, why not the White & Red that's being offered in other parts of the world?

Final cost been announced? What's the cost to reserve? Fully refundable?

Thanks!

As an FYI to anyone looking for a Polestar, I put my deposit down with Lehman Volvo back in December 2013, but I also had a plan B just in case they were not selected! My Plan B was Stadel Volvo of Lancaster PA, and they contacted me Monday to advise they had also been successful, and as of Monday did not have a buyer with a deposit for a vehicle....you can contact David Stadel at 717 569 1050, who I am sure would be more than happy to take an order for a Polestar.

My guess is each authorized dealer can sell as many as they like, there will be no allocation, but once the 120 are gone, they're gone....oh and in regard to the demonstrators, it would be mad to give each of the successful dealers a vehicle, they'll probably have a limited number go to each dealer for a short period of time....

in response to discounts....I very much doubt it, I was told months ago there would be no discounts, I am sure all 120 vehicles will go to Volvo fanatics...and they're prepared to pay full price....neither will dealers be allowed to charge more though.....I'm sure Volvo US would have a thing or 2 to say about that...its just gouging their customer base...

the stated price has always been 10-15% higher than a fully loaded S60 R-Design, which is ~$52K....pricing online seems to be between $57-62K...they've still got to compete with the likes of the BMW 335i, and especially the Audi S4, which are all around to $60K mark, for similar spec...
