Your wait is over. Available for order, at select Volvo retailers, are 120 Limited Edition S60 and V60 Polestar cars arriving this fall. These performance cars deliver pure driving thrill in all weather, on all roads and in all seasons.
Its time to place your order (if you haven't already)
the "market adjustments" are going to be quite ridiculous. Hopefully Volvo made them sign a promise to not sell above MSRP since they were choosy about which dealers got to be Polestar dealers. Sucks there are none in my entire state.
I'm surprised that all of 150 cars and wagons would not be all pre-sold by now, well 60K is a lot.....
Also originally the other color was supposed to be white so there goes mine, ain't gonna happen
It was mentioned to me that by the end of weekend it will most likely be single digit availability. Most are already sold. I want to know which celebrity got #001.
Considering the low volume, I'm guessing they'll sell but if I were cross shopping you'd bet I'd compare it to a Macan S (which I just configured quite nicely for under 60K).
Since they're in such low volume, I would guess that they will go close to MSRP. Was looking at the website last night and really liked what I saw. Any word if Volvo will start using a dual-clutch gearbox in the future?
If by "close to" you mean FULL MSRP, then yes. I think they certainly did their homework on how many to produce to just have not quite enough to meet demand. A very good move, plus it makes it much more unique/special...you can see an AMG, M or S any day of the week.
Also curious why so many dealer demos for a car of which only 120 will be coming to the States. Why would there be any demos at all or is that just a way for the dealer to get the car and then sell it afterward?
I don't know about u guys but I am not impressed with this version of the "polestar".. I was really looking forward to the car we saw earlier with the 550hp numbers. With 350 HP and a 60K price tag I'll pass. And its pretty ugly. Lol. Volvo has let me down on this one.
There are two numbers for each model. 1-40 for the S60P and 1-80 for the V60P.
001 - V60P - Rebel Blue - Daniel A. - California 002 - V60P - Black Sapphire - SOLD 001 - S60P - Black Sapphire - SOLD
002 - S60P - Rebel Blue - PENDING SALE
If anyone has purchase confirmation for his or her Polestar model, reply in the registry thread.
Yannis (GrecianVolvo) is a Volvo Market Manager for VCNA, he may have access to more current info than Volvo's own reservation website, which is where I pulled the info. They were making updates this afternoon and I'm not sure if all the latest sales are accounted for.
Touch base with Volvo of Triad in the morning. Hopefully it all works out and they have a Rebel Blue V60P lined up for you!!!
#030 - S60P - Rebel Blue - Dealer Demo - Volvo of the Triad - Winston Salem, NC 27103
These may represent reservations: 009 - V60P - Rebel Blue - PENDING SALE 016 - V60P - Rebel Blue - PENDING SALE 028 - V60P - Rebel Blue - PENDING SALE
I'm hoping #2 Rebel Blue is mine, I got a call from Denice yesterday, and I thought she said #32, but maybe she said #02....well I'm hoping anyway, because #32 is black S60, and I specifically stated when I place my deposit in December 2013 (yes almost 9 months ago!) that I wanted a Rebel Blue S60....it would be nice to think they've assigned the cars according to the order in which they received confirmed deposits....but that would be common sense, and often this is not the chosen path!
My only consolation is that my dealers demo is going to be a blue S60, so I've already told them, if something goes wrong, I'm taking their demo!
This is my backup plan as well. I'm across the river from you (hint) and my dealer is getting a Black V60 "demo" which is mine if for some reason my order wasn't filled in time. It works out b/c my wife does not like the Rebel Blue color (I know she is confused), but at least it looks like it will work out for me!
I was speaking to the owner of my dealership
1: There are Polestars not on the list, he has pre-sold 3 of them. Whether he bought them from another dealer, I don't know, I didn't ask.
2: The "dealer demos" will be just that, demos
Anyone they let will be able to test drive them plus it's a requirement that any Polestar buyer will be checked out in the demo before they let he/she take it and go..
Apparently this "check out" takes over an hour.
These demos will be sold later on but they're not allowed to pre-sell the demos as of right now.
He also thinks there will be another run of these, probably in a year or so, as this platform is history in 2017
Interesting that there would be any traditional demos at all for such a low production vehicle. This and having special Polestar designated stores signals to me a more comprehensive effort.
I was told that these cannot be sold for at least 3 months
Am I wrong here?
...and yes, Keystone said they will be keeping theirs for at least that amount of time.
Between you and me we both know who will probably be driving it back and forth to work for a while
Doesn't it just make sense that each chosen Polestar dealer would be allocated at least one car? So they are called a "demo," because well, what else would they be called? Then the balance of the 120 are chosen by the buyer and they specified their dealer. If Volvo had not pre-allocated these demo cars, then some (maybe many) dealers would not get one at all.
The dealer sells the car just like any other. It would make absolutely no sense to use it as a demonstrator when they have no others to sell.
Confirmed I am receiving Rebel Blue Polestar V60 #36 arrival is forecasted to be October 22nd. Sweet!
