So I want to treat the nubuck in the interior with something. This is a car I plan on keeping for a long time and plan on keeping it in pristine condition as well as I am able. So I got some ReviveX Nubuck and suede water repellent, it was highly rated. But, I am hesitant to put it on, but I am also fearful of long term soiling of the seats without some added protection. The interior is so good looking, I don't want it to look any less than it does now in 10 years. The last Volvo I had, I treated regularly with leather conditioner and cleaner and it still looked great 8 years later. Nubuck, I don't know anything about. Any thoughts?
I had my interior treated at the dealership but don't know off the cuff what its called but will find out and post it...its a product they offer and guaranteed 5 yrs.
2 - This is our recommendation in terms of the leather/nubuck seats:
Do not use leather care products to clean the Nubuck areas of the interior. You may use a soft damp cloth with water or a neutral soap solution (containing less than 1% detergent). Thoroughly wring out the cloth and gently
wipe it over the entire Nubuck area making sure not to over saturate it. Rub carefully and always wipe entire sections to avoid leaving visible lines. Allow the material to completely air-dry afterwards.
This article https://leather-toolkits.com/types-of-leather/nubuck/ describes in detail how to take care of nubuck, how to choose a quality one and what types it is. Also, there are reviews of various nubuck care products.
I've been using Sonax alcantara cleaner on my steering wheel and spots on the seats, as necessary. I have a gentle sponge and brush that will lift most of the dirt off prior and then clean the solution back off with a damp rag. It's worked well thus far but the alcantara material really just frightens me as it seems so delicate.
