So, I picked up my S60P* on Wednesday. I traded in a XC60 R-Design (2012). I find the ride very similar except that the S60 handles far better. The ride is better than the S60R I had (2006) and the suspension does not crash like the R's sometimes would. There seems to be a bit more turbo lag than the XC60, however, I have been keeping the revs below 4K so I would not draw any conclusions yet. I was very happy with the XC60 and had not planned on trading it for a while, but saw the Polestar on the floor while I was in for service and fell in love with the car. No regrets!
Not sure of the 2016 models have it, but the 2015.5 models had the number on the steering wheel. See link below for example, scroll down to second picture.
Congrats on the new car! You shouldn't be experiencing any turbo lag compared to you old XC60. The P* has a new twin scroll turbo. This is the torque curve you are working with compared to a new R Design. See how much quicker it builds power. Possibly it is that tiny lag in the first few hundred rpm's.
Are you driving in Sport mode or just Drive? In Drive mode things are definitely very tame and I actually like it that way. This is a car that begs to be pushed. You don't have to get it into the limits of the rpm band though as it has full torque at just 3,000rpm. You do want to push you brakes hard regularly to keep them in good working order though.
I now have 10,000 miles on my Polestar. I use it as a daily driver to work (35 miles each way). No turbo lag at this point. The engine opened up after 5K miles. I normally drive to work in normal and drive home in sport mode (depending on traffic). Just had the 10K mile service, however, it was the cars third oil change. (1500, 6000, & 10,000)
I'm curious what your thoughts were regarding those 3 oils changes. How did the oil look? Did you see a point in changing it at those intervals beyond your curiosity?
I have always made a habit of having my first oil change before 2k miles. With the old cast iron blocks you would get rid of the break-in residue.
With the new aluminum blocks it may not be necessary, but old habits die hard. I have used full synthetic oil since 1994 and change oil every
5k miles. The oil on the dipstick before the oil changes showed normal coloration. I do not have to add oil between changes so oil consumption does
not enter into this. I have a very good relationship with my dealer and let them do all service.
