What makes a great car? This is the question that the engineers at Polestar wanted to answer when they began the journey for their first production vehicles for consumer use. During the past six-years, the answer became quite simple. The engineers would build a car for people like themselves. With each concept car, starting with the Polestar C30, the engineers applied their lessons learned to the next. As a result, today's limited edition S60 and V60 Polestar models are the best Volvo enthusiast vehicles to date.
Brad we've both been around Volvos a long time, so let's not kid each other. This is not a bolt on V70 looking like an R kind of deal.
This car is a completely different animal. There is no way to get from here (V60 RD) to there (V60 P*), let alone any other P2.
And you will have to trust me, once you drive one and feel this chassis and suspension, that upgraded XC70 will NOT be what you would rather have.
My original owner V70R is pretty well upgraded and the best car I have ever owned. It is not even in the same stratosphere as this car. I still drive them both, and love them both.
You mention in the article that they are working on a solution for making the rear shock adjustment easier on the V60. Any insight into what that would be or the timeframe for the change?
I believe they are working on a tool to help reduce the amount of interior trim that needs to be removed on the V60. Nothing finalized but they are working on it.
Cool...now let's get Volvo to drop that 450-hp 2.0 liter 4-banger prototype and an updated dual-clutch tranny (why hasn't that Getrag Volvo joint venture produced one yet?) under the hood and this will be a big winner in my book! As a former S60R owner I'd consider replacing my M3 with this setup.
