Exhaust noise?

Test drove a Polestar Sapphire Black S60 yesterday, and while several things positively exceeded my expectations (the suspension was awesome, the seats were sweet, the front and rear visibility was perfect), there was one thing that gave me real pause -- the exhaust noise, even in D mode, seemed quite loud. I was somewhat self-conscious driving city streets sounding like a loud motorcycle.

I'm trying to forecast whether this is something that I will get used to -- or something that I won't.

Has anyone else on this forum had this concern -- and what did you decide?

Being a gear-head, it's music to my ears

D is quiet I think, perfect for cruising! S and M are just insane, porn for your ears!

It's all subjective, but I think the exhaust note in D is very quiet. There should be a very noticeable difference in D and S

Start up, one open, D both closed, S both open.

Did you used the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel? If yes, you got in to S Mode from D, then the sound starts to get great:p

exhaust noise

I've had my exhaust valves hang open on two occassions but not in last couple of weeks...its possible that might have happened and then it is quite loud and when I drive through our small town the slightest acceleration would definitely wake people up in apartments above stores and my guess any cop sitting around would have something to say lol Bill
