Ok, let's start with the best part: I was driving on I-95 this am in CT, and a MB e-350 Loaner car pulled up next to me, slowed down, gave me a nod and a thumbs up. Quite cool... FOR A VOLVO!!!
I had a full day of driving today with the P*, and racked up about 85 miles. Part of this driving day included bedding the brakes. Thanks to my co-Pilot, Lee, from Volvo in Westport, we evaded the police, and weren't thrown in jail for driving like erratic animals. This process was in D, and still had our heads spinning.
This morning consisted of mostly in town driving, coupled with a small trip on the parkway. While trying to baby it for the first 1000km, the car is just begging to be driven harder, The response in S mode, which is my favorite, is almost immediate. The brakes do feel a bit spongy, but not awful. The chassis is solid. It corners extremely well.
The interior and safety features are on par with the other luxury brands, if not better. The seats!!! They are ridiculously comfortable. I had the option of driving a loaner V60 e-Drive, and was a bit concerned because it lacked these features. The P* is not even in the same league as that entry level model that carries at the same V60 badge.
I was torn between this or a Macan Turbo. When I was at my Porsche dealer, another salesperson overheard that I was getting a Polestar, flew out of his office, and asked me to bring it in for him to see. The Polestar is the right choice! The others that cancelled to go with a Macan, you may regret that decision.
More to come...
