Thanks Mike. Our staffer who's running it was big on doing road racing. He's added drag racing to the forums, but he's really not a big fan of that. The focus on the site will be all about road racing with a heavy emphasis on sports car, rally and touring car, which is about all I follow also.
. That's okay, I love watching those Ferraris in the ALMS and maybe I'll have to support Aston Martin or a GT40 if Ford ever bothers to put someone into the ALMS series.
Where are these road races held? Anything on the Eastcoast? I looked at the site but they only mention the track name. Anything in the Mid-Atlantic area?
I like to watch the stock modified cars race like Acuras, Bimmers, Hondas, Volvos, and such. I don't like Nascar or Indy or cars that can't be daily drivers.
So I am not sure what league since I am pretty clueless about the whole scene...
The ALMS weekend in July might be right for you. That same weekend is the Speed Channel (formerly Speedvision)Cup, that is the closest thing you'll find to Touring Car in the USA. That series includes Acuras, VWs, Audis etc.
The main event, the American LeMans series has the prototype raceccars from Audi, Cadillac etc. and GT class has cars such as the 911, M3, Corvette, Viper etc.
Thanks for the information George. I'll make sure to check it out.
BTW, the site is awesome!
