I was driving home and the dashboard lights (all of them) turned on and were dimming and in and out. I figured it was something with the wiring, cause i didnt think there was anything wrong recently with the engine, and what do you now..it died on me. But I managed to turn it on and get me home ( a few blocks away) and I noticed the battery meter was dying down and falling. The answer might seem pretty obvious, alternator? or something to that degree, if any of you have an idea, please let me know.

how much might an new alternator cost (parts and labor)

my aim sn is vegunpete

Hey pete,

Did you get to the root of your problem ?
I am having similar problems with my 740 but once she dies i cannot start her again unless i have another fully charged battery.
Just cant seem to work out where all the power is going !!

Had the battery and alternator checked out and they both seem to be ok..

I havent a clue as to whats going on .
