Fuel Leak Problem has Volvo's "Best" stumped !

Hi;

I notice the smell of gasoline inside and around my car a 1996/960.

I have taken the car to the Volvo dealership and to a reputable Volvo
garage.

Neither one can find the source.

1. They have replaced all the fuel lines

2. A fuel system pressure check has been done.

3. They examined the fuel injectors.

4. They have checked the gas tank and it's seal.

I have not noticed any gas spots on my concrete driveway.

There hasn't been a drastic increase in my fuel consumption.

Has anyone ever heard of this type of problem ?

My '96 965 wagon has this identical affliction.

I have scheduled a routine service for this car on 05-17-05 and will ask the Senior Volvo Tech (41+ years Volvo-only) to check it out.

This recall/tech site shows a 1996 recall for loose throttle plates - a possible odor cause?

We will see. Later.
