It's a 1996 960 wagon. I need to slack off the parking brake before I can install the new rear rotors, but I can not figure out where the adjustment is. Can someone tell me how to adjust the parking brake?
Also, I accessed the parking brake rachet mechanism between the front seats. There is a steel arm below the rachet. The steel arm moves upward and contacts a plastic stop when you pull the the brake handle, and then drops down when you release the handle. It looks to me like there should be either another stop below the arm, or a piece (plastic?) attached to the end of this arm; its function would be to restrict the amount of movement up and down of this arm, and prevent the parking brake tension from relaxing when you release the handle after setting the brake. Any experts know about this?
