My niece was in an accident while driving my "like new" 1989 740 gle....So I bought a 1993 TURBO CAR almost just like it to replace it......can I take the low mile 230F engine and transfer it to my 1993 turbo car (93 has a bad head)???
What is the difference between the 1989 230F engine and the 1993 230FT? Will I be able to keep my turbo, or will I have to change it over to a GLE?
Thanks
Harley - As a SS noob, it's probably heretical to suggest going to another forum for help, but that's what online sharing is about -> INFO! There is a big contingent that has done what you're contemplating over on turbobricks.com. They call it "+T", as in adding a turbo to a NA redblock. Generally, you just swap all the turbo stuff onto the NA block and tap the turbo oil feed and return, then just run slightly lower boost since the NA pistons are higher compression ratio. I think there are even project threads there from the TB guys who have done it. HTH and sorry for the heresy...
