introduction & a question

Hi everyone. I've never posted here before. My usual haunt is the http://www.vwvortex.com forum.

Anyway, my wife drives a Volvo 740, and it is starting to feel old and sqeaky, although in other respects it is in great shape. I've read that the springs, shocks, bushings, etc are probably the source of the squeakiness, and I was wondering if anyone could make some specific recommendations about replacing/upgrading suspension components. Also, I have in the back of my mind the hope of someday doing the V8 conversion on this car, so maybe that would affect what suspension components should be installed.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Re: introduction & a question (Alex W)

Hi Alex, welcome to Swedespeed. For sources on suspension upgrades, including bushings, try these two companies.

To my knowledge, the 5.0 isn't a much heavier motor than what is in your car currently, though you can probably find more out by checking in with Converse Engineering, the company that is most known for this type of install. They have pretty good FAQs on the site, or you can call them and ask (I think it's a two man operation, and they both know the install backwards and forwards). http://www.converseengineering.com
