Hey everybody! I have a 1993 940 Turbo wagon with 128K miles on it. The front struts are shot, so I need to replace them.
I have the Haynes manual, but it shows a much different setup than that on my car. On my car, if you open the hood and look at the top of the strut, there is a huge nut, underneath which there is a big cupped washer, then a thick rubber bushing, all sandwiched on top of a very wide cutout in the mounting plate.
It almost seems that I could just release that huge nut, remove the rubber bushing, and pull out the old strut insert. Could it be that easy?
Any help is greatly appreciated. The Haynes manual calls for removing the ball joint, the hub, the tire rod end, etc., etc., which will be a huge job that I hope to avoid.
