I figured I should start a new thread for the ease of future reference. Here officially is the Carbon Fiber Winglets and CF Splitter. Both products will be available at CarbonfiberWERKS.com as initial launch products in November.

CF Winglets: They come complete with OEM holes drilled for mounting to the car, and include metal brackets and screws for the bracket to mount under the car. You will need to source your own rivets which is available from your local automotive store, I got mine from Volvo. Will be available in fiberglass reinforced plastic or carbon fiber.

CF Center Splitter: Come complete with holes drilled and screws and bolts included to mount to winglets. You will need to measure and drill your own holes on the winglets to ensure 100% fitment. Will be available in fiberglass reinforced plastic or carbon fiber.

Without further gibberish....here are the pictures, also installed are the CF Mirrors and CF Rear Upper Spoiler which also will be available as CarbonfiberWERKS.com products.

    The Products:

    The Install:

Fitment was very easy, everything mounted up without any modification. There are three rivets in the OEM locations and I added a little silicone glue ont the sides just as security. Double sided 3M tape will do as well, but I wanted them to make it through this Canadian winter. I had someone comment on how gorgous it looked the first drive I took the car out this morning.

These items, along with many other items will be available at CarbonfiberWERKS.com in Novemeber.
The format of the site will be different from a typical site. You will have the option of purchasing the item at full price or, if you choose to join in a group buy where there will be price tiers that the product will be priced at according to the number of people who want to purchase the product. Each group buy will have a span of 4 weeks and at the end of the four weeks, the product is sold to each of the participants at the tier price. i.e. 3-5 people= $X.XX, 5-10 = $X.XX, 10+=$X.XX

I figured this format will allow us enthusiasts to "save up" for our additions to our cars and at the same time get a great deal on unique, quality products. I along with all of you I am sure, with the exception of a fortunate few have a limited disposable income for customizing our cars. I am creating this site to supply the community with a solid, friendly, somewhat local and economical source for getting carbon fiber and fiberglass products

For more info you can PM me or e-mail me at info@carbonfiberwerks.com

Questions, comments all are welcome! Post away!

Quality looks great! I think you got the positioning of the center piece perfect.

  3. 10-26-2008 08:09 PM #3
Looks alright, but who wants a 3 piece front splitter.... Someone needs to make an affordable 1 piece CF splitter that doesnt cut up on the sides like the VST

you know what would be sweet? if you completed the body kit in CF.... I would totally find a way to buy all that, but since I dont have the body kit now, I feel like the car looks a little nose heavy with the winglets and stuff like on yours. However, I think those do look fantastic and praise your work!

Any pics of the center CF lip with stock winglets?

I think I might be in for one of these and a set of mirror caps as well. I think that will feed my CF needs

I think the splitter completes the winglets...should have been there from the factory IMO...looking forward to snagging a full set to replace my busted up winglets...

  8. 10-26-2008 09:42 PM #8
Looks great! Products like that keep people excited! I'll be looking at the center splitter to compliment my factory winglets....now I have to consider going CF and leaving it unpainted or FG and painting it titanium....

If we were to start a GB, I am definitely in for all three up front!

Wow. Normally I think carbon fiber is tacky but those are very well done.
Is there a difference in weight from the stock plastic one?
Is there potential for the rest of the body kit to be made in carbon fiber?

Thank you! To my estimates (and memory since I don't have the originals with me at the moment) , the weight is about half the weight of the OEM pieces, these are very light.

I am looking into the rest of the kit in CF, but due to high shipping costs there is a problem: The resulting cost of the kit would be very high.

Do you need to remove the factory winglets to install the splitter? I have a crooked winglet and planned to remove and reinstall this weekend, but if the winglets need to come off I'll wait. Thanks!

Nope you don't need to, it would be easier though. If you jack the car up or have it on a lift, and if you are comfortable drilling upside down then you can keep the winglets on to mount the splitter. I installed the winglets first and then measured and drilled the holes on my back on my garage floor with the car jacked up and I had no problems (except for a sore back).

Wow - THAT is the ticket. Very clean mold they did, and nice fab on the center. I can already envision an FRP version of the center splitter bridging my winglets.... maybe even painted the silver of the grille surround.

Yes, the current project is the PPC (S60R concept) trunk lid in CF and FRP

I am very excited about this part. This first mould unfortunately was not what it was supposed to look like so it is back to the drawing board. Should look very good when complete

The question is, can you see any possibility of replicating the front bumper "side spoilers" that go on the front of the PCC? I would really like those to fill the line of the car while not creating the issues common with winglets.

Another product I might be interested (although fairly small) would be a thin carbon fiber center post for the sport kit rear spoiler. I noticed it bounces a bit at speed. Something that could be installed with double sided trim tape.

I'd be interested in more interior bits like the shifter surround plate, 04 cup holder cover, a little trim piece around the center console like the +05's.
