How'd you mount it? Mines just like bolted on in the four or 6 spots they give you then I'm thinking of using 3m double sided tape maybe

I didn't bolt the current one on, a body shop did that for me because I lost the previous lip in an encounter with an F150 with a trailer hitch.

Mine is an 04, so there are half-circles that sit into the fog light wells, as well as 4 mounting straps underneath with a bolt each and an additional bolt the rear of each side (so 6 bolts all together). It's too messy outside at the moment for me to crawl under and have a look to see if they glued it anywhere.

3m tape would not be enough for what you are describing, you'd need something stronger like a urethane adhesive. Any local windshield shop should be able to hook you up with that sort of adhesive (just be aware it needs to cure for 24hrs before you drive anywhere at more than slow speeds).

Awesome! I'll look at my options and try and get it mounted better (then just zip ties )

This talk is making me want an aero kit bad. But the cost...

Some T5s came w the body kit but those are even rarer than my manual.

Those Tethys wheels are what Volvo should have had as their main offering in 17s and 18s for this model. Instead there are a lot of boring wheels out there.

My tethys could really use a refinish, but the thought of sanding every single one of those spokes gives me nightmares lol

Exactly why I eventually did this...

And because one of my Tethys had a stress crack that was growing.

They do look good. Two more spokes and they would be like Tethys. Great winter wheel since they're going to be black from brake dust and impossible to clean with cold weather anyway.

And believe me I do NOT miss those two spokes, that's 8 less to clean for the whole car.

What is this winter you speak of???

Also, I run akebonos, what is this black dust you speak of???

Wow, even us in So. Cal got down to the 30's this winter, and we actually a got a bit of that wet stuff y'all call rain!! Actually, the tops of the mountains by me still have some snow on them! Crazy winter I tell you. La Nina brought the rain that El Nino was supposed to, go figure.

Anyways, those OZ wheels look sharp, T501!! I envy them not for the lack of 2 spokes, but that they are almost certainly lighter than the Tethys, and stronger as well! How'd you get a crack in one of yours? Besides silver like mine, metallic gray and black are what they look best on I feel.

Here's a great online site for wheel weights of almost any wheel you can think of
      ...
And OEM Volvo wheels chart furnished by iPD...

Not sure what model or exact size of those OZs to know their weight, but Tethys which are 17"'x7.5" weight only 22lbs which is pretty light for a 17" wheel of a 7.5" width. Of course there's lighter out there, but for a stock wheel, that's not too bad.

      Thanks for the compliments all!

We never see temps that low in SOFLO. Last time it got cold enough to snow was 1977! It was only for maybe an hour and the tiny snow flakes melted as they hit the ground, or so I've read.

The crack on my Tethys was something I just noticed one day while doing some rear suspension work. I have to assume it was just metal fatigue. There were no bends in the wheel or witness marks where the crack was. It started out small and fine and then got bigger over time until I no longer felt comfortable driving on it.

And yeah the OZs are either 2 or 4 lb lighter than the Tethys, I can't remember exactly. They are low pressure cast which I'm sure is the same way they make factory wheels. Not sure if they are any stronger or not.

We got you beat, last time it snowed in the LA area was about 1949'ish... Since I'm a little ways out of LA proper and closer to a higher elevation than the LA basin, snow is much more accessible from where I'm at. But I got you, I wouldn't expect super low temps in SoFL.

Man, that sucks about your Tethys though. With some roads out here how they are, and freeways falling apart in places, especially in the 2 lanes that semi trucks normally drive in, I wouldn't be surprised of that happening... Good thing you spotted it with yours though and kept an eye on it before it turned into something terrible.

Thought I'd share how far I was able to stretch $150 for my first car. Used this forum a lot for inspiration. All plastidip and vinyl for now, waiting til after college graduation to do lowered stance, better brakes, and 17's. Otherwise completely stock, 2007 P2 with 118k miles.

Added mudflaps in this more recent pic.
