I think I am in the 21.5 to 22 range. Wondering if it's going to improve with new plugs and air filter.

I get 23 when I am using the cruise control. If I am in the throttle and driving a little more spirited its a steady 21.

how is that possible, I consistently get 21 cruising at 80. When I brought the car from Chicago though, I drove anywhere between 65 and 78ish, got 28.6 average MPG. I was so happy with it, but when I started driving around NY, I soon realized that it probably had more downhills than uphills down down this way lol.

I've sat at 21-22 overall for the 3 years I've owned an R. Better on the highway, way way worse having 'fun'.

When I got in the car it was 19.9. I went to the gas station by my house and filled up and reset the trip odometer. Then jumped on the parkway at 80 and got off exit 100 to go to Arby and then back. 80mph the whole way in the left lane. That's the first time I ever drove the S60r on the parkway because I have a 6 speed Elantra as a daily driver and I can get in the 40's on the highway. Since I got the R in September I replaced the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition coils, PEM, fuel pressure sensor, pcv system and cleaned the MAF sensor and it definitely helped. A lot.

If you're above 2k rpm you're in boost... the turbo spools quickly...

Maybe, but not according to my boost gauge. I just baby it up to 2650-2700, when ever it shifts, and the boost gauge basically never goes passed 0. I mean maybe 1-3 psi but I don't count that. Anyway it's irrelevant, now that I know the car is getting the same gas mileage as everyone else I'm going to have fun driving it.

That's the problem with instaboost lol. If you have a bigger and more laggy turbo it gets even better! The last highway trip I went on (400 mile trip) I was at 32mpg average and still slowly climbing. Average speed was 75-80mph. I try not to go much over that for fear or getting pulled driving at "reckless speeds".

I've seen 0.9mpg... which isn't theoretically possible given the 440cc/min max injector flowrate. I think the computer gets confused.

Its possible, since the computer appears to average out about the last half mile for its 'instantaneous' reading, if you are don't make enough headway while at WOT. I think the lowest I've ever seen while enthusiastically hill climbing was about a half.

Part no is 1ML805903. From SEAT cars

The splitter is to narrow to fit on our cars it's 10cm to narrow so I got two to cut up to get the width I wanted, then used a hot stapler to join the cut parts together, then a hot air gun to adjust the shape a little , it's fitted with some M6 fixings.

As they used to advertise, a Timex takes a licking, and keeps on ticking.
Really hard to beat how cheap they are, and some of them are actually pretty damn solid and well made!
Timex weekenders are what I wear almost daily (I think I have three in different colors), among the 13 or so watches that I have.
I want a clean faced Citizen diver myself, or an old school Seiko automatic. Less cost, and a bit sentimental. I've got a scratched up Town & Country that I've had rebuilt twice (don't ask how much I've paid).
If I REALLY wanted to splurge, I'd go for a Bathy's!!
