Lightbulb How to unlock the Volvo radio - Detailed Video

This video will show you how to unlock the radio in Volvo's that require the code after they have lost power (battery disconnect) and / or if they have been removed or replaced. This applies to the SC-xxx radio series most often found in the 850, 960, S90, V90, S70, V70, S40, V40 and maybe some other Volvo models.

The guy said absolutely nothing! That video does not say HOW TO GET the code, only how to clear the radio after it's locked up.

You go try to get a code for a replacement radio!

99% of the parts people around the country don't have a single clue how to look that up.
My guys get them for me in 30 seconds, it's not rocket science, but it seems that most of these alleged "parts people" don't know how to do their job and are way too lazy to even try.

If it's the original radio, no big deal but at least 50% of them have been replaced by now

At 1:39 I tell where you can normally find the code. Also, @ 5:45 I instructed people to call the dealer to get the correct code if they can't find it.

If you'd like, you can post your phone number and people can call you to get the code to their radio.

People know how to find me and are patient.
If someone emails me with the correct info during the day (before 3 PM), I usually can get them the code the same day.
If at night, I usually can get it the next day (except Sunday).
If you Google "how to get a Volvo radio code", my name and email come up in at least one search.

And almost NO dealer outside of the US can find a radio code, they haven't a clue.
The last 3 people that emailed me 2 were from ex USSR republics, Lithuania, Estonia then one from So. Africa!
I've had people from Bosnia email me, I think I've had emails from at least 20 different countries in the last year or so.

(Why would you post this here instead the 98-2000 forum? Most people won't read it here)

Good to hear that people are finding you for their codes.

I just posted it in the general section to get it posted. In 1 day over 80 people have viewed the post so hopefully people that need it will find it. If you'd like, you can copy if over if you think it's worth people's time.

      It's a PIA.
I will do it for foreigners as dealers from around the world are a bit limited but for US owners, they need to insist that parts dept. people learn how to do this, it's not rocket science!

People also need to remember that if the radio is a replacement radio, they need EVERY NUMBER on that radio to find the code.
The 7 digit no, the model of the radio, and the long serial number
