Short rules: stick to the right side of the road, not on the oncoming side. Round red sign with a vertical white stripe means one way street and you're at the wrong end. White edged, blue sign means mandatory action, like stay left, right, one way street and you're at the right end. Red edged, white triangle pointing up means hazard, like an S-turn, speedbumps, and so on, and the occasional moose, or sewerwolf. Red edged, white triangle pointing down means yield, to everybody, including pedestrians. Black and white edged, yellow square tilted 45° means you have the right of way. Green means go, yellow means pedal like crazy, red means this will hurt. All this applies when you're on the road, on sidewalks you're technically bot allowed to ride a bike faster than walking pace.
