Hey Blaqq, how did the BBS' work out? They sure look nice. What size and what tires did you end up with and any rubbing?

Oh, and that Audi looks ridiculous.

      Hey Marc,

The BBS' worked great after the 245 section Pilot Alpins got replaced by 225/45/19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM32's.

Audi is ridiculous, I agree, but it's a show stopper.

Love the black roof... was planning on doing that to my car when I get the windows tinted... you use vinyl?

BTW- The satin wrap is pretty amazing... I don't want to know how much that cost!

      Wow! Fold. LOL
That's pretty cool man! Did you use a matt-type 3m wrap that's translucent, or is it a matte vinyl that looks exactly like rebel blue?

Yeah, it's 3M vinyl, I had a wrap shop do mine.
Inside scoop: They were very thorough and prepped it very well. Fishtail antenna was removed (double sided tape holds it) & was done in 2 pieces (sides together/back of the fin separate cut out). The vinyl was brought under the rubber window seal at the top of the windshield (and rear windshield on my S60). Air gun was used to remove any particles in any of those grooves. The two crevices that are on each side were also done with two separate thin strips cut very straight laid overtop the big piece of vinyl.

XPEL Stealth which is translucent and has a matte finish. Very expensive but worth it as it self heals from minor road abrasion. https://www.xpel.com

The car looks really cool on this pic!! (But the left rearwheel looks like it has a weird stand)

Any thoughts about a little M Coupe comparison?
Thinking about buying one for track duties, but dont know if a cayman would be a better choice (reading Z4 is difficult to drive fast and the suspension shouldnt be this good, and it would be my first rearwheel drive car)

Yeah, the whole car looks chunky. Not sure why the rear wheel is exaggerated... looks all off camber. The M Coupe IMO is a pain to drive fast, and a cayman would be way better. But I didn't buy it for that... you can be just as fast, but you'll have to work more for it I guess is a better way to put it. You can PM anytime...

You definitely need to paint that rear diffusor black as well like you did on the front

That is not going to happen. I replaced those trim pieces up front. The front pieces only cost a little over $400 combined. That rear piece above the diffuser is over $1,100 by itself and is wrapped. I'm not painting any of the original parts so that it can be returned to stock if I ever sell it.

My favourite part is the lack of garish 1970's-look "V O L V O" across the back!

How is the bumper protection? Please let us see more of that and is it on top of the wrap or??? Looks good, though. I think I should get one before the first misstep causes a nice gash in the surface.

Removing the Volvo was actually the idea of the shop owner. This was the only shop that threw out styling ideas to me. All the other shops just confirmed if they could do the ideas that I had.

The bumper cover is over the wrap. That's why those stripes are gray. On a non-wrapped car the paint would show through those stripes. I like the look of it; It looks like it was made to be there. I haven't had the dog in the car yet, so can't comment on it's effectiveness yet.

To be honest, I liked it very much before you powdercoated the wheels. I think that great design of the rims gets lost in the dark.

I can understand that in photos but it's not the case in person, especially in the sun. The metal flake really pops. The grey wheel just didn't look aggressive enough for me which is why I went black. I tried a grey first. The wheels with the smoked lights completed the look in my eyes.

Agree with this statement, these particular rims look best OEM.

Haha. My detail guy who has a 991 GT3 with smoked lights convinced me to smoke them. I like how them came out. Volvo/Polestar didn't do enough to make the car aggressive looking so little details like this help. It will be a cold day in hell before you see neon lights anywhere near my car. I did upgrade to LED's inside which made a huge difference both in look and actually being able to see.

I've had tons of cars with black rims and they never turn out good in photos... one of those things you have to see in person to appreciate. If I could find a decent place to powder coat my rims, I'd it in a heart beat!
