I hate to say it, but I think I like the old one better. This one's just kind of, I dunno.... homogenized.

    Looks like one to me.

It's obviously a PS job. The side is the same as the current C70. Basically, an S40 cut in hlaf with an S80 back and a classic C70 body.

I quie like it, looks like the one i saw in testing, i would order one.

Yes, and yes. And , yes, the picture above claiming that it's the new C70 is totally ridiculous.

Agree with Yannis... This photo is too ugly and clumsy to be real. And you don't need to know what the new C70 will look like to tell it's a fake.

according to your statement the new C70 should look more beautiful than this one. I can only say

Can you give us a hint about what's incorrect in that picture? Just a taste...

I'm 100% sure that isn't the real 07 C70. Volvo would be more clever than that.

Ah yes, we know Volvo would be.....What about Ford?

That pic looks to me like something Ford designers would come up with; generic and unimaginitive.

A little less cynicism would help...did "Ford" screw up the S40 and V50?

Ford werent involved with the 'top hat' part of the design of the s40. the bodyshell and style of the top hat was a volvo only effort. ford and volvo only worked on the chassis and suspension design together. the bodyshell, including safety aspects etc was all volvo. once the top hat was developed, volvo altered spring, damper and roll bar rates according to how they wanted the carto feel and handle.

Ford hasnt been involved in the top hat aspect of any volvo.

top hat is the name ford use for the bodyshell above the chassis for c1 cars

Is the C70 going away and being replaced by the C50? Interesting photos at:

I wish people would get over the whole "Ford" thing. A Volvo is as much a Ford as an Audi is a VW or a Chrysler is a Mercedes.

Actually, out of the three examples you brought up, EVERY Audi IS a VW while a Chrysler is not a Mercedes (other than the Crossfire being a cloned SLK) nor a Volvo is a Ford.

    The 300C is a last-generation E-class. But now I'm just being pedantic.

Don't suppose you have pictures of the new C70 to share, Yannis..?

The link to this retailer's website provided above, http://www.englewoodvolvo.com/2006/volvo_c50.html, should suffice for now.

I have a question, whats the difference between a three piece and a two piece hardtop?
Can you provide a picture for both?
The pictures (photoshopped) in the link Yannis provided are two piece, is that right?

Someone said that the megane CC has a 3 piece, but I checked it and I can only see two pieces?

  27. 03-27-2005 03:55 AM #28
the megane CC has a2 piece roof, 3 piece is when the metal bit folds in the middle, if you know what i mean..

I had those pics long time ago and never knew that the valmet was 3 piece.
Great. The valmet does look tight.
