Urgent: need help removing lug bolts 05 V50

Working on swapping rear brakes. Most of the 19mm lugs come off no problem, but a few on each axle seem swollen. Tried to lightly pound the socket on one, but it started to warp when I turned it. Any ideas?!

Soaked them all down heavily with Seafoam Deep Creep. Apparently there is an outer chrome shealth that eventually broke loose. Back in action.

Is there a cover on these that needs to come off before removing the lug?

Only on newer Volvos. The lug nuts that Volvo put on the P1s are two (one) piece.

They are 2 piece nuts, with a cap over the nut. You can pry it off carefully and use probably an 18mm to get it off. I would replace with 1 piece lug nuts, but the caps aren't essential for reassembly or anything.

I've used the ebay lugs before.. Had them on my audi, xc90, jeep, s40.. Never had an issue. The only issue is with them getting surface rust on them so I just give them a good polish with some chrome polish and they're good to go.

I'd spend the extra so I don't have extra work to put on my list

I've seen a few different types of 12x1.5 with different size flanged ends. Is there a certain type that will fit the factory rims?

60 degree conical/acorn style seat, non-tuner - should work. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It'S 60 degree conical indeed. The problem I found when I was looking for replacement nut is not the angle but the diameter of the cone that is much bigger on our OEM than any aftermarket nuts I found. The only alternative that I found was DORMAN 611307 but they weren't very cheaper than the OEM ones.

If anybody finds a good suitable cheap replacement I'd be interested to know.

regarding the diameter, is this for aesthetics, or will it just not fit within the rim hole?

From what I've tested they will fit but barely. I mean that the cone will be seated on a small part of the rim cone that is very thin. It seemed sketchy to me at the time.

I found a used set of 12x1.5 Gorilla lugs for pretty cheap. I'm hoping they will work.
