Nice Saff for $2500, looks pretty straight. Interior needs luv, but it's a 20 yr old car, so the wear is fairly average

Pics sell, people just don't seem to get that. Three mediocre shots from basically the same angle, and one long-distance opposite side shot. NO interior pics. WTF?

      Oh yes please
Not bad, looks like it's "all there". Interior needs a little TLC. I'm a little corn-fused by his compression comment - maybe he's trying to say it runs the same comp as a 2000 XC, which I'm not sure is true.
I didn't think I would like Venetian that much, but it grows on you.

The info on what the 00 R motor actually is is not clear. It most likely is a XC head on a 2.3 block but maybe not.

      1999 V70R auto, 191K, Black/Charcoal, Gurnee (Chicagoland), IL

I know we kicked this one around a couple weeks ago, but they now have a full set of pics up, and really, it actually looks decent - especially for the money (I'm betting they're squishy on the price).
I'm guessing they just didn't want to give it away for a salvage price at auction. Except for the black wheels (not a fan), it's not half-bad.
Clean Carfax, and apparently babied up until ~80K. Then, no records for the last 10 years and 100K miles. Nothing on 'myCarfax', either.

      2005 V70R GT, 111K, Silver/Gobi, Federal Way (Seattle), WA

It's NOT A TUNA!!! It's a decent-looking P2VR, fairly low miles. Seats are a little baked, reconditioning is in order. Strictly NW car, so little-to-no salt.
Good pricing. Retail-chain maintenance, but better than no maintenance at all.
Seahawks emblazoning adds 10 hp., but only on game day.

I think we did this one already... Well, we know it ain't Barents, so it would be Magic. Going by the pics, wow, is it clean.
Clean Carfax. Going roughly by my own Price X Miles calculation, it seems like a good deal.

Yeah... When Monty got my car and called and left me a voicemail, I felt like he was a telemarketer who had data-mined me.
In fact, all he did was read my stickers and dig the stuff out from under the seats, and he knew my political leanings, my sports team preferences and even where I like to eat lunch.
It was creepy/funny. I'm in the process of re-billboarding the back window of WOOF 2.0. I'm trying to cajole some SS stickers out of Chris. Got start with the important stuff!

I put up a picture of my stickers every time I do anything to them .

Carfax says it's Black Sapphire. I saw a Magic Blue this week on a nice 2007 S60 2.5T w/ the sport pkg ... neat paint, never seen it in person. The car had too many foibles however for my taste, plus the fact that it's *almost* black, and black is the anti-color in our neck of the woods, unless you like driving a kiln furnace.

Yes, definitely was posted a few weeks ago. It popped up right after I was out in California. I think it was like two days after I flew back to Chicago. If it was worth it, I could have driven it back.

I'm at the point I realize I need to work long distance, not local. The closest one recently was the one at the dealer outside of Detroit that needed a transmission. They still wanted $4,000.00 for it. If they were about a thousand cheaper, I would had done it and swapped in a MT. The Florida one was just too much a mystery about history. I was just glad I didn't bite when it was with the original seller. I'm just trying to be patient and something will happen. Maybe a Sonic P2 VR will show up locally instead.

They actually raised the price $1000.00 from when they first listed it. I think all the attention it was getting may have let in the sales department someone know it was more than a typical V70.

Here's some fresh meat (at least I think it's fresh) to sink your teeth in...

      1996 854R Red 66k - $14,900 (One owner Carfax, from Illinois?)

      http://www.goodfellasexotics.com/Veh...850-850-R.aspx

Really, it seems pretty clean. Only thing that jumped out to me was the color on the Volans seems a little off, but could be the light they were photographed in.

Opinions? How close to asking will this get?

Wow I wish I could find deals like this near me! Damn! This would have been a perfect way to score panels for my T-5R........although it is starting to look like it would have been cheaper to buy a car off of CL for $400 than taking the approach that I have taken. I need a bigger yard lol.

Me too. Wish I had a flat bed and more land. My buddy in the country has three acres and is picking crap like this up and parting them out. Not Volvos though.

Wow, that got hit HARD. The way that sunroof is sitting is a lot like my red/tan R after it got hit by the front end loader.

Does Tom Long still need a hood?

Scrolling through the pictures thinking it didn't look bad, then got to the wheel pictures. Good lord did that make me question my original opinion.

Didn't see that. Must be my monitor, my wife's is Black Sapphire, and it never shows up that blue in pics. What I did notice after I posted was that the tailgate emblems are all askew, so even though the Carfax is clean, something has happened back there. And i know from painful experience last year with a certain '05, that black in pics can actually hide a multitude of sins. You really need to assess it in person.

Good point about the heat. My folks retired in Sarasota for 25+ years, and they did have some dark cars, but they basically hid indoors from May to November.

One curious point, though: I've noticed over and over through the years of buying cars long-distance that I've seen far less UV-baked dashes and seat bolsters in FL cars than in northern cars. People must be more diligent about keeping them under cover, knowing that the sun would be a problem. Three months of intense sun in Wisconsin or Michigan can really play hell on leather.

I'm glad nobody bit on the FL car. I guess there's a "right price" for everything, but it was seriously a Sad Sack.

Yeah... Kicked around and abused in storage, perhaps? I can't imagine what would do that. The random plastic cover laying on the seat, the handbrake pointed towards the sky, etc etc. They start to add up, but still... Mechanically, it might be fine. You would want to see it in person, but if it could be had for $5K (or less?)...? Things that make ya go "hmmm".

Really, it seems pretty clean. Only thing that jumped out to me was the color on the Volans seems a little off, but could be the light they were photographed in.

Opinions? How close to asking will this get?
Crack price, although it looks awesome.

This has been kicking round for the last 8months to a year. I haven't gone to look yet, but scrutinizing the pics and it's not as clean as it appears. Price isn't awful so I expect something else wrong with it. I'm waiting for him to be weak on price before I go look. 5K is comfortable absent any significant issues.
