      SRS Light

Hello all. I'm having a problem with my 2006 XC70 airbag system where the "SRS light" is on continuously and the "passenger airbag off" light is on regardless of someone sitting on the passenger seat or not.

I had the code scanned by my mechanic and the code is SRS-0251 Occupant Weight Sensor, Configuration Fault. Has anyone had this code and found a way to repair it? Please share.

Real PIA, it's buried in the seat bottom and I mean buried

I'd check the harness under the seat first. It's more likely that something slid up under there and damaged it.

I'm going to check the harness shortly.

Is there a way to bypass the sensor so the airbag will deploy at all times? The only passengers I carry are large/heavy adults.

      No
It has to be working as designed

if you knew the resistance of the sensor it would be trivial to duplicate it and fool the computer to think that the seat was occupied at all times.

It ended up being couple of damaged wires on one of the sensors underneath the seat. It took me a good few hours to find and repair them but I'm happy. Thank you to all that helped!
