      Hi.

i have a problem with my s60. when i are out driving and go 35mph and above my car is vibrating like hell when im accelerating.
as soon as i let go of the throttle it stops. usally it stops when im driving downhill to.
it is almost none vibration in the steering wheel.

the wheels are brand new and balanced.

      anyone got any idea?

the car is vibrating so mutch and i am afraid it is going to fall apart XD
but as i said the steering wheel have almost none vibration.

i am going to take the car to a garage in a week or 2 but would be great to maby figure it out before i use tons of money at the shop.
      expencive in norway XD

My 05 S60 does some mild shaking between 30-45 mph when I floor it. I'm not sure what causes it but I'm curious to know what people suggest for you to check, I'll be piggy backing the advice lll

Sounds very much like an axle/drive shaft that needs to be replaced. Not very expensive if you're able to buy a new one and replace it yourself. You have to identify if it's the right or left one first however. Don't scrap the car off that's the only issue with it.

Some of us likes the older cars. And this one is in really good condition other then the vibrating. No rust at all..

It is almost no vibration in the steering wheel. Is that possible if it is the axel/driveshaft?

Yes that is possible if it's not too severe. Generally vibration under acceleration only is an axle issue. If not much steering wheel vibration, then it could be bad motor mounts or torque mounts that connect to the transmission. Also possible to be bad exhaust mounts or if the exhaust is touching anything, but that I'd think you'd feel at idle too, same with motor mounts.

It is halfshafts for sure. I`ve had same problem some time ago. When accelerating it was shaking insane. I changed halfshafts and since then it was ok. It is one of main problems with automatic S60 from 2002-2010.
