      Question regarding inner tie rods

      Hi guys,

I am going to replace my outer tie rods because they are shot. My question about inner tie rods is, can they have a little play? Or be completely stiff? And do the R designs here in the USA have the speed sensitive steering? Thanks for the help.

What do you mean by "play"?

If you remove the outer tie rod and the inner tie rod just flops down, that should probably be replaced. A brand new inner tie rod is quite stiff.

Not sure about the speed sensitive steering. The old P2 chassis cars with speed sensitive steering have an electrical connector near where the steering shaft mates to the rack.
