\r\n I recently had starting issues and a mechanic said my starter was seized. He replaced it, but it still had starting issues. Turns out, battery was bad. After starter replacement, the car occasionally has starting issues. The starter wont engage and I have to tap on it with a long dowel. I called the mechanic and he said a tooth on the flywheel was chipped and to replace it would cost $1400ish. Do I live with tapping the starter, or should I get a second opinion? It\'s super annoying to have to tap the starter when it\'s raining. Could it be a bad starter they put in or a connection?\r\n
