Thermostat Housing leak (middle gasket) Need bolt torque . . .

My thermostat has a slight leak at the middle of the thermostat housing
There are two bolts and a gasket
Going to use some permatex and re seal it

What is the torque for the two bolts ?

      A new housing isn't needed:

just make them tight. if it leaks, tighter.

I did the same thing, split the housing, resealed with permatex, no issues and no need to spend the money for a whole new housing

If it's old enough to leak, it probably warrants replacement...

To each their own. I'm not 100% sure, but I think those bolts are M7. Generic torque for M7 threads as per volvo should be 17 nm.

Did you guys take the whole housing out . . . or just separate it leaving the lower half attached to the block?

I don't have a tool for the small tube with the oetiker clamp . . .
May have to separate the housing and work on it with the tube attached in the confined space
You guys do it this way?

Left the lower housing in the car, left the hose clamped to the upper housing

Also, replaced the bolts holding the halves together with hex bolts.

cut the clamp off, used a hose clamp, left the other half on the block.
