2006 2.5t wagon (ad says t5). Black and off black. Scratch and dent, fogged headlights. Climate, sunroof, park assist. Clean it up, and have fun! 157K and 3,600 bucks.
      https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...156690162.html

THIS is what started my Volvo 'thing' I have. This is a 73 164E, but we had a 74. Colors are a little weird on this one, but hey - it was the 70s. Everything on this is what I remember. 105K and 7500 bucks.

Expensive for the wear, but low mileage. 101K 1999 v70 manual, black/oak. 3300 bucks.
      https://baltimore.craigslist.org/ctd/6134186642.html

1994 manual 850. 188K, maroon over grey cloth. 900 bucks. Dented on one side and needs some work, but relatively clean.

My first car (in 2006) was a '75 in that exact color combo (my interior was definitely lighter than that though - not sure if more faded or that's a redye). It got me back into the Volvo game as well. Despite being a good 20 (30 for the rich kids) years older than everyone else's cars, it had everything I could've wanted and looked great.

Aren't Thors a different bore size than P1s? I wonder if they're on there properly or not.

I'm sure they must be a different bore and would require rings or something.
      Cheers on the 164E!

I did buy a set of rings for my thors but never used them. I think they are typically bored to 65.1mm and the P1 and P3 cars are 63.4mm I think.

Seems like a solid deal. Were they still using HPT motors as late as '04?

Ha same here! 164 for first cars for the win (early 2000's). Mine was a '69 white 164 manual running on natural gas (grew up in Europe ftw). I had so much fun in that car, the countless trips we made loaded with people running on super cheap LPG. Plus skinny tires + rainy weather + RWD == stupid moments. Looking back at it, I may have mistreated it a bit. Though it did shape me as being a volvo guy for life

after that I got a 440, that was a bit of a sad moment in my volvo life

Not a fan of the 2.5T's and didnt knew they made them AWD, but for the price. I guess with a tune they could be fun, right?

Oh no no no, that was purely a term of endearment, my friend! I wasn't using the term "broseph" disparagingly, I am merely sympathetic to your needs for a barn-type of housing, and dropped the term to imply kinship.

Those kinds of "bros", the flat-bill ones... I don't think are the Volvo-enthusiast types. Then again, I just haven't met one yet.

This is about as close as you get to flat in our world.

What could that honestly be useful for? That reminds me of the dog pens people attach at the rear of their trucks which make me uncomfortable af.

It's useful for robbing you of more fuel, and making a noise like this, at 60:

      HEY NOW!!!!

Nice 240's - decent, late-model sedans but especially wagons - have developed a cult following almost everywhere.
They always looked like they were built to stand the tests of time into eternity, and there seem to be plenty of folks cheering them on to get there.

I agree. This one has everything, at least in terms of what we see so far, going for it: estate, manual, southern car, straight body, although what the interior looks like will obviously be a big factor here. That's not to say I don't think it's optimistically priced, but I don't think it's at the level of crack, either.

Not knocking the 240, just knocking the weird cage on top. Do you think Dr. Phil drives a Volvo?

The price on that 240 wagon really isn't out of the question

Those kinds of "bros", the flat-bill ones... I don't think are the Volvo-enthusiast types. Then again, I just haven't met one yet.

Totally agree. With a little more time, these could go the route of the VW bus. There is a guy here, by the lake, that has a fleet of them - pristine. He was offered six figures for one due it being a seven window model. ...okay maybe that isn't the best parallel, but I think the future is solid for the 240 wagon.
