      More 98 T5M questions

I also need a new lower dog leg (tranny) mount.
Different than the mounts for an automatic
Not made anymore, what are my choices (if anyone knows)?
For those that have installed poly bushings, how much vibration is there in a manual T5M if all other mounts are stock rubber.
      Thanks

I have a 98 T5M and I'll check the lower mount. I don't remember it being different when I did my '95 swap. It may not be until later today or tomorrow.

They're the same. I've used p2 mounts on the p80s several times. The torque mount that is. The only specific mount is the passenger lower engine mount and those are still available for t5m

I have ipd upper eng mount, ipd firewall mount, and ipd trans mount on my orig 98 t5m and zero vibration at idle or cruise. I also have Volvo front engine mount and 200K mi left and right hyd mounts which I've considering replacing but why at this point.

Note: I also have everything new in front and rear suspension exc the trailing arm end links, new steering inner/outer ties, new oem brakes, straightened wheels, perfect four wheel alignment, correctly adjusted ebrake, rear ipd sway bar, ipd springs, upper strut mount tie bar, and good tires.

I have poly upper and lower mounts on my C70 manual and it is tighter and more vibey under acceleration but at idle and cruise not noticeable. When it was automatic and stopped in gear it was terrible. Put it in neutral and it was fine, but loaded it vibrated the whole car.

^what Lloyd said. My T-5R came with poly torque mounts and I just shift it into neutral at lights. It is just awful if you don't; takes me right back to my days growing up in the back seat of the American econoboxes we had when I was little.

They are the same for either application, automatic or manual transmission.

Just because the part #'s are different, doesn't necessarily mean they are different. This goes for all manufacturers, not just Volvo. Often times, different part numbers, different prices, same part.

      I know.
That P/N that ipd shows for a manual is for automatics, so I have to assume it will work.
That one I have here, so when we do the clutch next week is when I'll find out.

Why T/F would Volvo list the manual mount being discontinued if it's the same?
I (and the parts dept) would really love to know. (I'm being nice here) *(&^#*$^#&*

Probably because its not EXACTLY the same. There used to be two versions: oe hard and oe soft. Also remember that when volvo was owned by ford a good part of the old catologue part numbers got axed and replaced and then listed as discontinued. Its a mystery to me as well but thats the story i got from my preferred volvo parts guys when we were trying to figure out late 00 XC motor mounts versus R (302 brakes and my S70's T5 engine in the xc now) for 00.

The P80 AWD "dog bone" transmission torque mount is NLA and has been for a few years (sigh). The FWD mount will work with either Auto or Manual transmission.
