Thread: EZPASS - windshield or license plate mounting????

  1. 09-15-2005 07:26 AM #1
For those of you in the Northeast, I have a question for you...

Has anyone experienced problems with mounting the EZPASS tag inside on the windshield? I've been noticing more and more cars with the license plate tag.

Just wanted to plan ahead...haven't picked up the car yet...

I have ez pass mounted inside our 04 v-70, up behind the rearview mirror on the passenger side, no technical problems with it deductiing tolls from my account, my wife however comments that from her vantage point in the pssgr seat it distracts her.

i got the ez-pass when they had it on sale in nh for $5. it is mounted on the license plate, much cleaner install.

i must say that i drove thru one of the ez-pass lanes at 60mph and it registered just fine.

i had too much stuff on or going to be on my windshield. valentine1, bluetooth speaker, soon to have tom tom 700 gps and sirius receiver and maybe just maybe a new ipod nano and car kit.

Damn--you'll have to return that Pine Air freshener then.

I mounted it on the windshield behind the mirror on my 04 V70 but then had to remove it a drop it down a little for it to register properly.

Thanks for all the comments...I think I'll try it on the inside first as I make my wife sit in the back anyway!

I have my EZPass mounted *inside* the grille using zipties. It's a license plate version, but I didn't want it hanging there out front and getting squashed by a braille parker.

It took a couple of tries to find the optimal location...lower grille was too low. This mounting spot works fine.

    Totally invisible.

lol! my air freshener is mounted on the air vent and that is a space concern also.

thinking of removing the center speaker and putting the gps unit in the hole with some type of powered operation from a car stereo specialist.

i like the idea behind the grill. lot of boston drivers are touchy feely in there parking style.

what do you call a person driving with two forks in their eyes? a boston driver!!
