I'm not sure, either. Even though I know this isn't what D.A. meant, my first thought went to a landau roof. Can you just see an S40 with one of those?

They sell aftermarket leather trim..
To answer D.A. Kingdamo..
yeah I have a buddy that used them to do his 350z. He chose a red leather for his black 350z. It looked great, the install was good and the feel was very nice. All in all a good job.

Oh... now it makes sense!
Classic Soft Trim began manufacturing quality products for the automotive industry in 1969. In the early 1980's, we pioneered the aftermarket leather interior industry providing leather packages where limited or no factory leather was available. Since then, we have not only become the world's leading aftermarket provider of leather trimmed interiors, but are also recognized as the innovators in design and craftsmanship.
Classic Soft Trim has factory-owned installation centers and authorized installers in most major cities in the U.S. as well as a large international presence.
Ahh... I get it. I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of this in an S40 if anyone gets around to having it installed.
This was a very popular upgrade on previous gen Odyssey's ('99- '01) that did not have a leather interior option. You may want to check the odyclub site.

Ya, I saw a lot of Odyssey owners saying they've used classic soft trim on the edmunds.com msg boards.I'm pretty much just not that satisfied with the quartz t-tec. Maybe the off-black would be a little better with resisting stains, but the light color just seems to pick things up pretty fast. I'd like to think that I'm more careful than the average car owner, but I've still noticed some things popping up here and there. Then again, most of the stains I've gotten have been from the dealer, but that's another story. Either way, I'm concerned about the door panels, especially over time, and I plan on having this car for several years.
So, this has lead me to looking into upholsterly places. Classic soft trim seems like one of the more prominent nationwide retailers/installers, so I was just seeing if anyone in the swedespeed community had any experience with it. Sorry I wasn't more clear on what they are in my original post!

It's pretty cool, if you go to their site, http://www.classicsofttrim.com, and look up a volvo s40, there's actually a pdf diagram showing the upholstery layout. So, it seems like they're pretty professional about it. From what I've seen on edmunds, it also seems like their prices are reasonable, especially for the quality that everyone seems to be saying. One of my main concerns at this point is their ability to put the car back together appropriately i.e. free of squeaks, rattles, loose/misaligned parts, etc.

well I found out also when asking around to some of my friends that my buddies turbo'd Protege 5 had classic soft trim do his interior. It is 2 tone black and silver. Awesome work, I always though he got it done by the dealer. Anyway his car is now 3 yrs old and hasn't faded, still looks very tight and easily seen to be very professionally done. I have been on the fence about changing mine, but the more and more I think of it, it seems like a good idea. I think next yr I will go ahead and probably get black and red suede interior done....mmmm can't wait. Good luck on your quest.

Cool. Sounds like another positive for their work.
I wasn't planning on doing any type of 2-tone dramatic change, just some shade of gray that will match the rest of my interior. Probably the most I would do is 2 shades of gray, similar to how the t-tec already is, but to each his own. It would be kind of cool (to me) to be able to have an interior that looks basically stock but is slightly different than anyone else out there with leather.
