"We love death. The US loves life. That is the difference between us two." - Osama bin Laden
"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." - Tomas Paine
Apparently some Mustang owners out there have a grudge or something to prove! My favorite part is where it says, "All Races were Performed on a Closed Circuit." Then the next scene is titled, "Street Light Run #1."
This video is old, too.
Anyone see the video where the two *****s were going at it, and then a Mustang (or maybe Camaro) came out of nowhere, made it a surprise 3 car race, and smoked the crap out of them anyway? That was a good video!
Kurt, you know if you go to the SRT4 Forum you will see vette kills...........
I like the one where a Supra twin turbo and an RS 6 are battling on the higway, up comes a Mustang (one of those limited edition lx 5.0 convertibles in all yellow). Next thing you know, the RS6 says goodbye to everyone.
Quote, originally posted by R_Rated » Kurt, you know if you go to the SRT4 Forum you will see vette kills........... What's your point? I'm sure we can find R kills on other forums (probably much easier too... well actually, no, not too many people bother running against the R).
And how much in mods would they have spent? And even then, if someone managed to make one that could beat a stock, 400hp C6, it wouldn't stop me from smiling while behind the wheel of the 'vette!
By the way, I beat an SRT-4, stock for stock, in the R...
I was just saying the SRT4 guys are an even prouder group of car owners than people who have R's. It would be rare for a neon to actually beat a vette. The vet is pretty much borderline supercar. The biggest thing that keeps it out of that category is the low price in comparison to performance.
Did you read the latest C&D?They have the 1st place FWD supertuner, a Dodge Neon SRT4.
Total cost? 43,153 dollars... Quarter mile? 13.4 @ 112 MPH! A base 'vette starts at 44k and will easily beat 13.4, unless the driver really sucks.
Don't ever let an SRT-4 owner hear you call it a Neon. I saw a guy get slugged for it. They actually think they are not Neon owners.Whateva!

I like how he says, "yea he's quick" at the end of the first one.
Here is a listing of 1/4 mile times for SRT-4's. Fastest run is 11.1 seconds.
I like how the Neon- er, excuse me, SRT-4, lost to two old-school Mopar turbos, one of which was a minivan.
Makes me want to find a Shadow/Sundance with a 2.2 or 2.5 Turbo in the junkyard and put the motor in mine. But would it then still be a Shadow, or would it be an "SRT-Shadillac"?

Many of my friends own SRT4s and they are amazing cars. Cheap and extremely easy to get power out of. I know some people that run high 12s and have not spent $23,000 on mods to achieve that like they Powell SRT in C&D did.
srt4s are pretty quick. just wondering, how many volvo owners actually race? (im a noob)

You have to have a quaiffe and some really good rubber to keep the tires from breaking loose.

I think the 04+ models come with a Quieffe LSD from the factory....only the first-year run had open diffs. I don't know about the tires, but they've supposedly got drive axles that are similar in length so torque steer isn't that big of an issue.
That being said, FWD still sucks. Other than that, the NEON SRT-4 is a pretty sweet car.

Thanks Sean. I just had a flash back to my trip to Amsterdam.
That's Dennis Rodmans club on PCH...arcoss from MargaritaVille in Newport. I've been, seen that. Don't know if it's still around, but it hit's off on Saturdays and the girls move over to Margarita Ville on Sundays. Rodeman is in the begining of the video.
2006 S60R, Electric Silver, 19' V7's, full factory options, fully modded and Black Flagged from Volvo. Thank goodness for the onboard LIDAR jammer.
So says the man who lists the fleet of 1994 Dodge Shadow, 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT (Hers), and a 2000 Ford Mustang GT.![]()

Ummm...man's thrifty. That a bad thing?

I was partially joking. The other part was my personal opinion which is very low when it comes to those specific vehicles.Mopar is only good in a Cummins Diesel truck (my mom had a Shadow es turbo)
I don't like any pontiacs post 1970
Mustangs are like a-holes....everyone has one and they all have flowmaster mufflers because an a-hole has to fart. (Once again, all Ponies post 1970 suck)All my opinion, and all are far from gospel, so dont turn this into a dfending his cars thread.
At the end of the day, the SRT-4 is a Neon with some go fast in it. It is a decent budget ride if you want cheap and quick. If you want fast and reliable, don't buy American. IMHO

Don't buy Swedish either. At least, not a 2000 Volvo S40, IMHO...

Too bad it got dropped in favor of a really ugly crossover thing.Or wait, was that a good thing? I had the "privilige" of driving an '02 Neon while my girlfriend and I were car shopping. The back two windows aren't even power while the fronts are? The carbon fiber look wasn't doing many any good and the SOHC motor was a joke. The only good part was the A/C, but
Got a 626 instead. Way under-rated car.
The supercharged Cobras are no joke. It'll waste just about any car on this board probably. And while the Fairmont chassis isn't the greatest, the Cobra does the best job it can, and it's still a good one. You put one up against an old Mustang and it'll be gone. SVT made the fox come to life. One of the only Fords to be up there with the Corvette. But I still have a special place in my heart for the Lightning. I love Ford's trucks. I own one after all.

Neon's can be made to handle well too.
I like the video of the Viper getting schooled by an Integra. Now that is just FUN to watch.

Wow, i have completely mixed feelings about this car. This thing, believe it or not is a THRILL to drive. I drove an '05 with the viper seats and the larger wheels and the expensive tires. To both disadvantage and to the thrill factor, both me and the salesman shrieked rubber through 2nd and 3rd shifts. Torque steer isnt hideous, and handling is pretty good. However, this is a teenagers car for sure, as it isnt very accomodating, and the styling is childish IMO. The interior was put together on a $100 dollar budget (excluding the Viper seats).
