I would advise a diverter valve instead. A blow off with trigger a CEL.

if you want a BOV, you will need one that remains closed at idle, or like josh said, you will throw CEL's all day long.

I think it really is up to you, cause all BOV does the same thing... You should just pick 1 that you think looks the best.

Or maybe 1 that matches the engine bay better.

I've used Greddy, Apexi, HKS, Blitz, all sound different, and the sound will change depending on the pound you set. And to make adjusting "sound" difficult, it sounds different for different cars with different mods.

I had a Apexi on my FC3S RX7 and my friend has the same BOV on his Eclipse GSX, we set it at the same pound but when it releases, the 2 car sounds drastically different...

So My suggestion would be just pick 1 that you think looks the best!

Good luck!

most people like the HKS SSQV, but it also "whistles" and i think it sounds ricey.

i, personally like the tial BOV, and if i decide to install a BOV, that's what i'd go with. sounds really nice.

if its the kind that remains open at idle, it will suck in un-metered air and cause the ECU to throw a CEL.

when i had a turboxs type-h, it remained closed at idle.
i believe its the dual-piston type.
just do a google search regarding blow off valves and MAF sensors.

Any "piston" type BOV's stay closed at idle...HKS SSQV, TIAL, Synapse......Diaphram ones tend to leak or "blow open" under high boost. They do have an adjustment nut and spring to take care of that, but then it makes you wonder if you have it tightened too much and if it's fully opening when you let off the gas.

exactly.
a piston type will keep the same amount of boost on the "charge" side of the BOV as the piston side, keeping the whole thing in equilibrium, so you can run 50psi, and it sees it on both sides so it doesn't budge, but as soon as you let off the gas, you have high-vacuum on the piston side and high boost on the charge side, and it forces the piston open.
