OBD-II Readers | 8:51 PM 10-1-2007 | |

Does anyone know by chance what a good way to read the s40's OBD-II, that is case a code should be thrown in the car I could read what's going on? Or better yet, some program where I could hook the computer to the car, scan it and be able to take diagnostics over a run to see how that cars functioning? Or do the softloaders like BSR or IPD's ECU PRogramming also scan for codes as well, in the event I decide to chip the car using a softloader?

Yes , IPD has an OBD 2 code reader as an option for their softloader. The BSR doesn't . JC whitney has some great code readers for about $99 that show not only the fault code but also the fault (insted of having to look it up in a seperate book)

I've looked on JcWhitney, Can I get any OBD-II reader, I have a 2006 S40 T5 FWD. Or do I have to have C.A.N. enabled for the reader.
