Hi,
We just bought a good used 2001 Volvo Cross Country wagon, because it is the safest car on the road.
Which means we have to make room for it in the garage.
Which means the second safest car on the road is for sale.

Probably the stupidest thing we'll ever do is sell this sturdy, reliable, lovable car.
Because nothing ever goes wrong with it.
And it doesn't have a single speck of rust on it.
And there's nothing wrong with it.
I'd drive it across America tomorrow if I needed to.
All in all, a great, extremely safe, well-maintained California car in good condition.
We're the second owners, and purchased it from the original owner, a friend.

If you know anybody looking for an inexpensive, safe family car-- a family with a dog, a college student, a pregnant lady, a high-school kid learning to drive, or somebody with a business that needs to move stuff around in a station wagon--please have them call us.
Thank you.

When did Volvo surpass Saab as the safest car in the world ? they bought the right to advertise it that way, but when doing so Saab was the safest car in Sweden. Go figure. & unless it's happen as of lately I never heard Volvo surpassed Saab.

Well, they are probably more expensive for the same reason that a '57 Chevy Belair is more expensive than a 2005 Chevy [almost anything]. The older ones aren't superior, but are sought after for their style and simplicity. I've got a 240, 740 and 2 P2's. Th2 P2's are WAAAY more comfortable, get better gas mileage, and, having the benefit of being AT LEAST 10 years newer, are generally more reliable. Now that's not saying the rear-drivers aren't more fun...
