Motor Trend posted an article today showing the plug in hybrid diesel electric version of the V60.

The VP of corporate communications for Volvo North America brought the car to Motor Trends offices where he said that this platform (maybe with a gasoline engine) will be featured in the upcoming XC-90. He also mentioned that the regular XC-90 will be reaching dealers in the spring with the hybrid version following in about three months -- a little more than a year away. I already put my name on the wait list with my local Volvo dealer -- can't wait.
