There's curb weight and there's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating).
They are two different measurements.
The numbers from Paradox are ranges of the curb weight for the new XC90.
I don't believe the GVWR for the all-new XC90 has been released yet. However just as the first generation XC90 AWD models had a GVWR of 6,080 pounds (which qualified for the tax write off) the 2016 XC90 will have a GVWR of over 6,000 pounds.
Where did you get that info ? I Read at some place that Volvo says they "reduced" the weight go the new XC90 by 250 lbs over the old one for better milage. The curb weight (max) of 2014 is 4753lb and if the new one is 250 lbs less, then to get to the 6001 GVRW, it should have a cargo/ laden weight of over1500+ lbs!!
I am not sure what exactly they mean, but interestingly the Running order + Max payload does not match the Max total weight.
700+2030 vs 2750 ? But they are all over 6001 anyway.
