Volvo of Canada has anounce the T8 pricing in Oct. together with T6. Why VCNA does not anounce T8 price? Any insight?

Most of the time, when something is delayed... it doesn't mean good news...

I think this delay has been planned, which doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Even two months ago I was told at the dealer the T8 pricing would be available mid January. Should happen in a couple weeks.

I guess one could create conspiracy theories for why. My top theory is that they wanted to ensure the limited supply of the T8 would be able to support the markets they are already obligated too. That is, they only have enough supply to support a few of the countries they are selling in, and they choose to wait for the U.S. to make sure they had enough for Europe and Canada.

I don't see it as a problem, but I wish they would have chosen the U.S. as one of the first markets.

Pricing (and other specs) on new models from any company is often not revealed until quite some time. Ford's new aluminum F150 has been revealed months ago, and thousands of orders were placed (and even manufactured) before MPG numbers were released. Often times supplier pricing changes, competition is making announcements.....a lot of reasons why Volvo has not put the number out there yet. Could very well have waited to see how the reaction was to the pricing of the gas XC90 and the demand for those units. It doesn't indicate anything other than they said pricing would come out in January. It's December still.

Canada price for T6 Momentum MSRP is CAN$60,700, the R-Design MSRP is CAN$65,200, and the Inscription trim’s MSRP is CAN$66,800.

T8 R-Design MSRP is CAN$73,400. Inscription, carries an MSRP of CAN$75,000.

The T6 Momentum in USA is $48,900. R-Design $52,900, Inscription $54,500. Proportionally the T8 R-Design in USA would be around $60,000, and Inscription around $61,500. After tax credit it is merely above T6. I am wondering if they would mark it higher price, such as $65,000 for T8 Inscription.

Could it be possible VCNA is waiting for the BMW X5 Hybrid introduction?
The XC90 T8 is comparable with the X5, e.g. 2.0 litre 4-cylinders, the XC90 has more power and better emissions, the X5 has a BMW-batch . Maybe they want to stretch pricing as close to X5 as possible....

$61,500 sounds like that's where it should be... but I think like other car manufacturer's they are going to try to squeeze every dime out of you... so 65k sounds like what they are going to try to do...

I think they will price the T8, at least in the US, so AFTER the tax credit it comes in a tad below or right around a fully loaded T6 so it doesn't take away from T6 sales, plus li-ion batteries ain't cheap. Just a guess.

It also depends on what you value the tax credit for. It won't be $7500 as the battery is too small to get the full credit. With state incentives (in PA) my tax credit would only be $5718 (if the federal tax incentive is extended from 2014).

The federal one doesn't need an extension, it goes by how many plug ins and EV's are sold per manufacturer. Once one hits 200,000 it runs out for that manufacturer. The federal credit that needs extension is the one for installing a home level 2 EVSE.

I was waiting for T8 price announcement at Detroit auto show but it didn't happen.
VCNA looks has some internal problem being so lamb.

In Europe, customers can order a T8 but...
delivery dates are now planned in September-December 2015.

I am not certain US customers are patient enough to wait 10-12 months for a car.

Thats a shame, volvo typically launches their cars long after their reveal, now with the delays the wait is even longer!

I doubt it... I seriously think it will be 2016... pricing for the T8 isn't even out yet... it can't be that hard to determine pricing... something is wrong and I don't think it is a distributor issue because T6 and T8 are similarly equipped... I am wondering about their battery... if its not all they hope it would be...

With the new Q7 and more diesels out there there is LOTS of reason to delay pricing....waiting to see how the competition positions themselves. It's not uncommon at all for a model to not be priced until right before it goes on sale. Doesn't mean there is anything with the product in any way, it's just common industry practice. Lets not create a bunch of rumors because the price isn't announced almost a year before it hits the road....

During the press introduction in Spain, Volvo has announced that the T8 will be official introduced (in Europe) in autumn.
