There has been a dealer conference going on in Vail, Colorado and videos have been popping up on YouTube by dealers.

This one shows the car and the guy states the first vessel, or RoRo, left Sweden a few days ago for the US and demo cars will be available for test drives the end of April. No mention if First Editions made it out of port yet or are leaving soon.

Forgot to mention he also says carplay available in a few months.

Anyone in Sweden tried it? We PNW probably is the last place to get it....

great news, hopefully the price and availability of the T8 will come out sometime in the US in 2015. I think we're the last country where the T8 is planned to be marketed to get a price.

Got an email from my dealer saying that there will be at least 3 demo cars coming in end of April to May. One Momentum, one Inscription and one Inscription with Urban Body Kit which will arrive near mid June. Most likely the momentum will be for test drive , the Inscription will be for showroom.

this is great news for me, I'll be picking up my XC60 via OSD, dropping off Apr 24, so seeing as how they have lots of ships waiting to take these new vehicles to the U.S., mine shouldn't have to wait for a ship at all!

I think my car will be surrounded by lots of new XC90s, hope it learns some new things...

Maybe we'll know more tby then, but see if you can get any word on when First Editions will be arriving, is the June estimate really true. It was mentioned they were building them along with the demo cars a few weeks back so I can't see how they are arriving June if demo's are here in a month. Thanks.

Oh, and they really stepped up vessels leaving in the month of April. At least for ships coming into Baltimore port, on average, they have 4 a month from Sweden. But in April they have 6 coming in...

Congrats on the new XC60 by the way, enjoy it and the trip!

In the email I got, it said the FE cars will arrive at ports in end of May, most of FE customers will get their cars in June.

Wow, that's interesting. Did they mention to you when First Edition deliveries are happening there?

Anyone else think the access to the 3rd row is very poor? Compared to a number of other manufacturers most notably Infiniti.

Shouldn't the second row slide and tilt forward or tumble up so you don't have to step over the seat back? I've seen a couple of videos and either they don't know how to move the 2nd row or its a really bad design.

I think it does actually to a degree, and in that video, the guy just did it wrong or poorly. I've had pics of it done 'right' and it did tilt and slide forward unlike the way he did it in that video. I'm unfortunately not on the machine I saved the pic to of it done 'properly'.

Second row seats do slide forward in order for someone to step into the third row; the gentleman, on the video, was too excited about the car that, I think, neglected to do that. ;)

Any First Editions on the vessel the dealer mentioned bringing those demo cars over to the U.S. Yannis, and if not will any First Editions be on any of the April departure ships in the image I posted above?

Does Volvo bring Al into Baltimore port and then truck over to the NW? Or do they ship to Seattle Wa port?

Northwest-bound cars enter the U.S. from Port Hueneme, in Los Angeles.

I believe F.E. XC90s will be on the next vessel.

Thanks as always for the reply Yannis, I think I speak for other First Edition people on here when I say it is great to hear they will begin coming over on the early April vessels. I was fearful they wouldn't make it out until the last April vessel or even worse May vessels. Thanks again :)

If you find out for sure please do let us know, and if our unique FE number would help.... ;)

I mentioned in a previous post I had a photo somewhere of it folded and slid (well, slid a little forward) and here it is:

Just for a little comparison, here it is in the regular seated position:

Great picture. Iam wondering the rear edge of door frame can be more curvy so more space to get into 3rd tow. What is behind the door frame?

Great news, right around when they should be hitting the US as well if they are leaving on the early April U.S. bound vessels. April should be a fun filled information month to come. :)

Some dealers are actually letting people take the new XC90 for a spin. The official test drive period starts week 19.

Depending on which port yours will be shipped out of.
I ordered a V60 RD in January and as of today, it still has not shipped from the Port of Gothenburg. When I ordered my car, dealer said I should have it mid March. My car was delivered to the port on April 18th and the next ship, leaving for the Port of Baltimore, left this morning and my car was not on it. That ship has an ocean transit time of 13 days. It is probably full of XC90s.
The next ship is leaving tomorrow but has an ocean transit time of 19 days which means I won't see the car until April 27th.

Don't think you can. Someone told me it was the same basic mechanism as the current XC90, which means that it won't tilt with the seat in installed.

That's better thanks. I figured there had to be an easier way but had seen two videos where people didn't do it right. Still not as nice as the Infiniti QX60 or whatever the JX is called now.

No problem, I knew I had decent pics somewhere. Yeah, the JX35 was only for 2013, then they renamed it the QX60 after just the first model year... Lame. I don't really use my third row often but when you do put fold/move the second row seats in the QX60 (I own one now) there is quite a lot of room to get into the third row. Even the leg room in the second row of the QX60, there is alot of space back there. I just wish it was as techy as the XC90 will be when loaded.

I just saw this on a dealer's website (http://www.perrysburgvolvo.com/undelivered-orders.htm) and sure enough they have a Momentum and an Inscription with the Urban package inbound (Inscription with Urban package is listed as their demonstrator, pricetag of $76,095!), as well as listing a First Edition. The demonstrator is listed as arriving around April 29th, the First Edition says sold and is arriving May 2015 and the Momentum is not arriving until July 19th and it too is listed as sold.

And another dealer in Ohio (http://www.kempthornvolvo.com/all-new-xc90.htm) is saying demo's in May, they are getting 2. (Edit: Changed since yesterday, they too are now getting 3 demo vehicles end of April - a Momentum, Inscription and Inscription with the Urban styling kit) I think it'll be so close to late April it is probably safer for dealerships who are not really really close to a port to just say May.

Fingers crossed FE's are in fact May not too far behind these demo cars arrival.

http://i.imgur.com/UgruOs3.jpg

Edit: And now another dealership is putting up (http://www.volvoofenglewood.com/new-inventory/index.htm?listingConfigId=auto-new&year=2016&model=&bodyStyle=&internetPrice=&normalDriveLine=&start=0&sort=&facetbrowse=true&searchLinkText=SEARCH&showFacetCounts=true&showRadius=false&showSubmit=true&showSelections=true) 2016 XC90's in their inventory, but this one lists an R-Design. So they're just adding them for ordering purposes basically, I find that a bit dishonest. And they even list regular fuel and not premium fuel on one or two of the descriptions. This is the type of dealership I personally try and stay away from, just me.
