Well, from all the rumors that have been floating around...seems like it's going to have a slightly bigger engine and much stronger internals. Of course some bigger turbo....so, not sure if it would really be an easy task to just go to the dealer and put all the goodies on just like that.
Actually, the car itself will have more awesome features than just its powerplant, as all of you already know...that kinda of power can be achieved with some work and effort.
I think we should be more excited about the other goodies that this car is going to offer. It'd be interesting to tweak this car instead of the normal T5. Could have about the same result, but could also create some silly high HP.
It would probably be comparable to upgrading a VW/Audi 180hp 1.8T to the 225hp 1.8T that came in the TT. Fuel mapping had something to do with it, but it was really much different as a whole package (internal parts, ECU, turbo, IC, etc). Not impossible, but not easy either.
I reckon it'll be nearer the £35K mark for the S60R and around £40K for the V70R (same engine) which would put them about £10K more than a standard T5.
They're both 4-wheel drive so you have to pay for that plus the extra power.
