Hehe..thanks for posting the pics. I think it's .63 A/R Stage III turbine, though. http://********************/smile/emsmilep.gif I need to double check that later today.
To be honest, I don't understand a thing about these turbo's.
The inlet diameter looks a lot smaller compared to the 19T compressor.
Can you post any measurements?
The 19T diameter is ~1,875"
A/R .63 should make it a high rev spooling turbo.
Probably above 3500 RPM.
I guess this is what you want for dragging?
$10 says he better get some drag radials on those front wheels if he wants any traction whatsoever http://********************/smile/emsmilep.gif http://********************/smile/emsmile.gif
LoL~! Yes, it's a lot bigger than just 1.875 inches for the inlet. According to Turbonetics' site, the one I have 2.75 inches. I'd hope it's a lot bigger than the 19T. http://********************/smile/emsmilep.gif
Not necessary just for dragging, and I hope this turbo will not going to be just for that. If I was going for that, I'd have gone even higher A/R or just simply a straight T4 and no ball bearing option. It would have been a lot cheaper and easier. http://********************/smile/emwink.gif Or T66? http://********************/smile/emcrook.gif
If I had to guess I'd say Kai was on the high side of 350whp before he went back to regular 94 Octane and put the cat on to go pass the emissions test.
That's pretty decent for that tiny turbo~! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif
Yeah, if the silly internal wastegate was able to hold the boost, I'd like to find out what kinda power I was pushing. The speedo and the tach was moving a lot faster than most of the ones I've seen. http://********************/smile/emwink.gif
This new turbo should be interesting. http://********************/smile/emlove.gif Can't wait....
I think I'll just have them installed the unit along w/ the external WG, then let TurboXS guy do the tuning.
BTW, JRock, there's a topic about the CL-S 3.5L conversion in the car lounge session, maybe you want to share something with people there. http://********************/smile/emwink.gif
It looks like the standard solenoid can't hold the boost.
With the BC and it's solenoid I do not have any boost problems except some whobling behavior at half throttle where it looks like it can't get a constant setting.
this is only when I run the 1.3 bar setting.
With 1 bar and 1.1 all is fine.
The wastegate itself (300/70) can hold boost without problems.
I'm not too sure if that is the problem, though....since it's still holding up when going upwards near 1.5 bar. Hard to say...we'll find out soon enough. Just need to pass my emission test first before any more funky stuff.
Hay Johann, If you dont mind me asking where did you get that turbo from the v70R and how much did you pay for it I would like to get one.. That turbo looks like its the european model
You will not be able to fit that 19T on your C70, and with the money you are going to spend, why don't you get something like the one I'm selling. Not simply advertising what I'm trying to sell, but just confused me why people are spending all these big $$$ buying factory turbos.

I have already checked (for my car). Cost is $675 plus labor and provided that you give them your old turbo as a core. Otherwise, the price is out of the wazoo...I was not willing to give them my current turbocharger so here goes that idea... http://********************/smile/emcrook.gif

To make is a bolt on job you should use the 18T I guess, it doesn't differ that much with the 19T.
You can mount the 19T to the manifold and fit all the plumbing and feeds without problems but you need to fabricate a different downpipe connection.
One other option is to order the V70RAWD downpipe, it's based on the classic model which is the same as the C70 but when looking at it I think it is less efficient befause it has to go around the rear driveshaft.
