Well, these arent the best pics... but I think you get the idea, I had to take these at night because I had to use my friend's Digital camera. The K&N works great and it was worth the cash, the boost gauge also came out nice as you can almost kinda see in that pic, its a dash mount vdo pod, and a autometer gauge. Hopefully I will get some nice pics soon.
I love the sound of the cone filter! its got a nice woosh when you get off the gas! sooo glad i got the cone! thanks to everyone who steered me in the direction. Also I didnt some gtechs before and after the cone and I dropped .5 seconds of my 0-60 time. http://********************/smile/emsmile.gif
I wonder if with the cone filter you get more hot air sucked into the motor versus the stock airbox pulling cooler air from the front of the car. I wonder if that makes much or any difference other than the noise.

I don't think a cone filter is a "true" cold air intake. Those have the filter element outside the engine bay but inside the fender lining. Cone filters where ever place draw a larger volume of air but are prone to suck in hot engine air in slow traffic without a heat shield. When this happens they may even reduce horsepower(?), all in all in most conditions you gain up to 10 horsepower because the air is so unrestricted and less/wider piping and much lower turbulance. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

mhrmm... but back to my original post, the MAF sensor would just blow off any extra air the sensor belives the engine cannot take. hence, all the extra air flow is zilch, until the MAF is reprogrammed or replaced with something to accept more air into the engine. Soo.... unless the engine is allowed more air, all the air being taken in will just be blown off.. *shrugs*

Sorry, I didn't clarify that. The MAF is removed on the cold air applications, I'm sure they are removed in cone filter applications too. haha, yeah it would be silly to bottleneck a good air flow! Yeah, this setup is not a cold air, because the filter is right in the engine bay, but it does allow for maxium air flow. There doesnt seem to be a good way to setup a cold air on the c70, we would need some acess to the lower portion of the car.

Actually, I talked to Peter out at CFI Motorsports in NJ about intakes today, he told me that a normal cone style filter without a factory airbox (or something else to feed cold air from the outside) would actually end up sucking in all the hot air from the engine compartment. He said that you may actually end up losing some power. He also said that Eastern Aerospace and Volvotuning are possibly working on a real Cold-Air Intake (which you find on japanese cars) where the funnel is placed somewhere down by the fender or fender lining (I forgot the exact term he used). The only problem with those is if u forge deep water, you have a chance of screwing your engine up.
