I need to flush the brakes with fresh Motul 600 for track season, as well as swap in my track pads and shims. Should probably do plugs as well. If anyone else wants to learn that stuff or do similar work on their car, we could do another GTG at my place or if someone else feels like hosting that'd be great too.

I need to do plugs, and if brakes are being done I'd think about getting some ss lines. I'm coming up on 60k fast, I need to check to see what I need to be doing.

Can we include some grilling and beer this time? I think we need to bond as a group.

I like this idea, need fire up the grill again. could go for some burgers/brats/steak... could each bring some of their favorite beer to share too, get a nice variety.

i'm also saving for a steering rack as i get clunk when turning it to the left now and again. Usually when pulling into or out of a parking spot. That, combined with my low powersteering fluid warning a while back i think something will give.

I also have a few goodies coming in the mail too, no intercooler yet, but would love to install a nice big black one down behind the bumper...

I hope you have some money left for trackdays... sucks spending money on go-faster kit and not being able to enjoy it fully

the way i see it is that overtime = R money; and fortunately/unfortunately depending on how you look at it, i've been doing a lot of overtime.

I'm thinking of going up to BIR on Memorial Day:
http://birperformance.com/even...65660
More info: http://birperformance.com/viewpage.aspx?ID=63

Cost is $265, includes lunch and helmet rental for you n00bs who don't have your own yet. Unless you fancy leaving town at 5AM you probably want to hotel the night before up there too.

Re: Mn R guys (Warpedcow)

Hi Gents, If you know of anyone wanting a literally AS NEW low mileage (14k) loaded R, I'd sell mine (only because I have a hot lead on a 911). And you'd have to shoot me first before I'm going back to Borton. I had my R in for perpetual brake grinding noises and they kept pointing the finger at the fact that I store my car in a heated garage- nevermind that I've never had a problem with the umpteen other cars I own. The kicker was when they walked out into the lobby and said- "Say, didn't you say your car had BIMBO brakes or something like that? You put those on?"

Nope, John Deere had 'em left over and I duct taped them. Sheesh. Way to know your product, knuckleheads.

PS My R has a brand new Brembo config all around.

I was asked via email to describe trackdays a bit more. These are NOT AutoX by any means! It's basically hotlapping, similar to a practice or qualifying session (if you decide to time yourself) before a race. You may have heard the term HPDE (High Performance Drivers Education) or just DE which is basically the same thing but it has more implied instruction and coaching. For further reading, I suggest some of the many helpful wikis at Trackpedia:
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki...on%3F
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki..._days
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki...Guide
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki...klist

More info about BIR in particular is here:
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki...ceway

FWIW, if any of you heard of "Donnybrooke" in the past, they got renamed when BIR got new owners, they are now just called "BIR Performance". IMHO they run some of the best trackdays at BIR, instructors are top-notch and you get loads of time on track.

You can see telemetry from one of my laps as well here, it should give you an idea of the speed and Gs involved:
http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki...:03.5

I should also note that BIR has a new club course in the infield, I'm not sure which will be used on Memorial Day, hopefully they split the day over both.

Re: (Warpedcow)

I was back in the cities this weekend for Easter and saw a couple of R's. One was Ti grey, w/exhaust parked in driveway in Lakeville, the other was a Sonic VR driving south on 35E. It was a little bit North of St. Paul when I passed you.

Also stopped at the capital on the way back up to Duluth.
