      I haven't had a problem with my ceramics, but the ones I had on my '98 weren't that great. I agree though, overall I've been happier with the feel of semi-met pads.

      I tried three different places and got three different refunds; gave up and ordered Pagid. If I try again anywhere else, it'll be on the last day of my credit card cycle so I can redeem the cashback award before the inevitable refund comes LOL.

      In the home stretch for this. Ugh finally almost there, just a few more hours and it should be ready to turn over. Just need to get the timing figured out. But it’s almost there. It’s been a slow process with the weather here in MD. Luckily we’ve had a mild winter and i took advantage of every warm day we had.

      you need to slack off on all the fasteners including from the feet to the tube to get it to seat properly and then tighten everything down.

      Yup, scoured forums and followed those guidelines. Prior to install I observed how the feet seated tightened without the tube and it’s pretty damn close tightened with the tube.

IPD bought one off me, got the part number and it seems as if they ordered a pallet of them immediately after strait from Volvo EU. Kinda similar to Viva buying 850R clutches direct in bulk to get better pricing.

      S70s got the new doors, thermostat, parking brake, rear calipers rotors and pads, hood latch cable and vacuum lines, sway bar links and the oem strut bar.
      Got about a grand into repairs but I’m picking it back up tomorrow! Saw it today and couldn’t even tell it had been in an accident.

      Ah, yeah, that could turn into a problem especially if it's available under GCP now. Either way, I'm glad Volvo saw that there's a demand for them between people wanting R bumpers for their regular 850s and 850Rs with broken bumpers, like they pretty much all are.

      Now that the thermostat and a few coolant hoses are replaced, I can smell the s70 burning a fluid after running to temperature for a few minutes, and the coolant is halfway to min from max after about 50 miles. The heat has been smelling sweet for a while so I ordered a heater core, anything else I should look at?

      There's a tab you can pull behind the trunk lining to manually open the cap, no drilling necessary... At least on the 850, but I'd imagine with the S70 too

      I think he means the cap itself. Probably an aftermarket locking gas cap.

      Yes, I buy aftermarket locking caps for any car I get. Handy when parking in the hood with a tank full of 93, not that gas thieves are very prevalent these days but I've seen stranger things than that in well lit areas.

      Off topic, starting to like cruising in this s70 more than the v70. Getting more used to the shifts and clutch catch/rev matching makes it so much more pleasureable to drive. The sound system is noticeably better with the two 8" subs? in the back, even with a 700 dollar aftermarket kit in the v70. sc900 might be helping. Starting to see why the 90's volvos are so popular!

      Question - the piece behind the dash between the windshield that I see broken on the p80's all the time - where can I get that, unbroken? Very hard to remove? I want to swap out my dash with the center speaker one, but I can't stand that fkin creaking everytime it hits the slightest bump - would rather do it all at once.

      It’s part of the lower dash, unfortunately. It’s not a separate part that can be removed/replaced.

      It really sucks considering they’re ALWAYS broken... my old ‘98 V70 had it broken really badly all the way across. Fortunately my S70 that I’m getting ready to sell has only a few hairline cracks on that piece... usually they’re way worse!

      Oh god that's disappointing. I can actually see the body and paint in one broken spot :/
      Well, the creaking might be the dash itself as well. i can grab it and move it towards me on the driver side, it's definitely missing a t25 or one sheared in there somewhere - hope that's not the case.

      Getting a heater core in soon, the Monday or Tuesday after I get it in I'll be installing it - job looks simple as cake. Might as well install the dash and Dolby unit for the stereo while I'm in there.
      Anyone know if leaving the knee bolster out presents any crash risks?

      While I'm asking, anyone have a PN on the passenger side roof weatherstripping that goes along the doors down the windshield?

      I wouldn't worry about the knee bolsters, '99+ P80s didn't even have them.

      The creaking is definitely the lower dash if you can move it, that's how my cousin's is in his '99 T5. The mounts can be repaired with fiberglass and different types of adhesives, but you might want to try to source a used one with that top strip in good shape if you want that fixed.

      I deleted my knee bolsters in my 850R. They're there to keep you from going through the windshield if you're not wearing a seatbelt. Seat belts are required in my cars, so they just seemed like a great way to break your knees to me.
